N-400 February 2015 Filers

I'm frustrated right now because i called uscis last april and told them that i had my bio last feb 24 and my status haven't change at all (seems like I'm left behind too) then they told me to call after 90days of bio. I thought that they will do something after 90days and today i called, they ask what is my local office which is Newark (anyone from Newark?) and said I'm still in a normal processing timeline. I'm disappointed because they should have told me to call after 5moths, I expected too much. It's my fault too I think I read this kind of situation here but did not pay much attention. I wanna cry because I can't have my vacay since feb and I'm already exhausted from work.

Had my interview this morning.. APPROVED!

Went in the building exactly 7AM; my appointment time is 7:30AM.. Uscis office was still closed, IO opened the door and had me sit in the waiting room.. Waited for 30min.. At exactly 7:30AM, IO called my name, had me sworn and interview process started.. First we go over my application form.. Some changes was made, IO was very nice, made some jokes and had some small talks on the side.. She made the whole thing less nervous for me. Then the civis test.. Got 6 correct answers right away:

1. Who wrote the Declaration of Independe?

2. What are the two major political party?

3. What is the political party of the President now?

4. Give 3 original colonies

(I forgot the other 2)

Then English test

Had me read a sentence (i already forgot the exact words)

Had me wrote a sentence as she dictated (Congress meets in Washington)

She recommended me for APPROVAL..

I told her about my upcoming trip outside US, and she noted the dates when im leaving and when im coming back. And noted in my file to schedule oath taking after the trip.. One more step to go..

Hi everyone!! I just got back from my oath ceremony and it was short & sweet!! Im now an American!! For everyone else that are waiting just hang in there!! And congrats to each of us!! thank u all..

Hi guys,

i had my interview on May 20th. it was scheduled for 1:20pm in NYC office, i arrived at around 1:00 pm. i was called in at 1:45pm. the IO took me to his office and i made a sworn statement. after that i had my reading test - What is the biggest city?, after there was a writing test - We have one hundred Senators. then i was asked civics questions, i answered first 6. here are those questions.

1. Where is the Statue of Liberty?

2. How is the governor if your state?

3. what is one promise you make when you become a United State citizen?

4. Who was the first president?

5. What movement tried to end racial discrimination?

6. Name two national US holidays.

once he was done with those questions, he went over my N-400. everything was ok, but the only thing that i didn't submit with my N-400 was my marriage certificate. my N-400 was on based of 5 years, so i did not know that i need to submit a copy of my marriage license. the IO asked me a copy of it, but i did not have it on me.

the officer told me that the decision could not be made yet and requested a copy of my marriage certificate, other than that everything was ok. so i wend home and sent the copy the same day with express mail. they got it next day. now i am waiting for any updates. i hope i will get an approval shortly.

thank you everybody for their stories and good luck to those who are waiting for their interviews. just my advise, bring everything to your interview even those docs you think you don't need, be on a safe side.

Got a text today! OATH CEREMONY NOTICE WAS MAILED so excited guys waiting for the letter now.

Had my interview this morning.. APPROVED!

Went in the building exactly 7AM; my appointment time is 7:30AM.. Uscis office was still closed, IO opened the door and had me sit in the waiting room.. Waited for 30min.. At exactly 7:30AM, IO called my name, had me sworn and interview process started.. First we go over my application form.. Some changes was made, IO was very nice, made some jokes and had some small talks on the side.. She made the whole thing less nervous for me. Then the civis test.. Got 6 correct answers right away:

1. Who wrote the Declaration of Independe?

2. What are the two major political party?

3. What is the political party of the President now?

4. Give 3 original colonies

(I forgot the other 2)

Then English test

Had me read a sentence (i already forgot the exact words)

Had me wrote a sentence as she dictated (Congress meets in Washington)

She recommended me for APPROVAL..

I told her about my upcoming trip outside US, and she noted the dates when im leaving and when im coming back. And noted in my file to schedule oath taking after the trip.. One more step to go..
