Congrats !!! Another one just done with USCIS.

post-74483-0-96096400-1432166344_thumb.jpg

Hi I just had my interview today at LA office and APPROVED!

My appointment is 7:15 am and we were there 6:30 am and long line is already awaiting....Then at 7 am they started calling for those who have 7am and 7:15 appointment. At approximately 8am my name was called by an IO. Before I sat he lets me swore then ask for my green card, ID, my husbands passport & naturalization certificate, and our marriage certificate. He then go through with my application and sign after. By the way he's not sure about one of the digit on my social security number so I gave him my social security card just to make sure that it's correct...then he photocopied my ID my green card and SS card.

After signing my application, he ask me if I reviewed the handbook and if I'am ready to take the test....

First was reading:

Who is the father of our country?

Writing:

Washington is the father of our country

Civic test questions(not in order):

What is one right or freedom from the first amendment?

Who is in charge of the executive branch?

If the president can no longer serve, who becomes president?

There re four amendments to the constitution about who can vote.Describe one of them?

What is one reason colonist came to America?

During the Cold War what was the main concern of the United States?

I got all the correct answers then he congratulated me! He gave me a paper stating that I'am recommended for approval and said that they will just mail the letter for my oath schedule.

Thank you jimmyhou. Hopefully they will not be picky. And last one just got this month and waiting for the bill of notice. I will have it done with my lawyer when I receive it.

It depends on your interviewer and whether or not your local office has a policy of being overly picky with traffic tickets. Some interviewers won't care at all and others will hold off on approving your application until you go to the courts in question and get proof that all your tickets have been paid or dismissed. No way to tell what your interviewer is going to do, unfortunately.

Definitely make sure that you pay that last ticket before your interview. If fighting the ticket is going to take time then just pay it. Even lenient interviewers will often ask if you've paid everything and you want to be able to say yes.

Just last month someone was in a similar situation and got a deferred judgement on his/her citation... the natiralization process was held up until the citation could be finally settled.

Also, if you got your tickets in Harris County, you can get receipts online for free.

I have my interview tomorrow. For those who have already gone through it, what did you wear? I know it says to "dress for the occasion" but did people go suit and tie, or business casual (slacks, shirt and shoes)? Or something else?

I remember when I was deciding what to wear I saw somewhere that we should dress like we are going to a job interview. I'm not a man but when I went to my interview I saw both men and woman who both wore business casual or suit and tie. So business casual is defiantly fine. good luck!!!

IO asked why I was changing my name. I gave IO the reason and felt okay about it. No big deal.

Yes, you have to mention your daughter at the interview. Failing to do so would be lying on an immigration form. This is a serious offense that can lead to denial of naturalization, loss of permanent residency, or future denaturalization.

If you applied based on 3 years of marriage to a US citizen, you should expect a bumpy process.

If you applied based on 5 years as a permanent resident, you may still have some trouble because adultery (believe it or not) can be considered a conditional bar to establishing good moral character for naturalization purposes.

http://www.uscis.gov/policymanual/HTML/PolicyManual-Volume12-PartF-Chapter5.html

Adultery

Extramarital affair tending to destroy existing marriage, unless extenuating circumstances are established.

I don't know if they seriously enforce this, but either way, I'd say you'd have better luck with a 5 year application than with a 3 year application.
