I-751 February 2015 Filers

I am a January filer, and my optimistic estimate is to see some movement for Jan folks in October.

Thats not very optimistic lol.. Just kidding, but probably mid September we will get an answer I think (At least I hope so)

Let's hope they go month for month, meaning

July - Nov filers

August - Dec filers

Sept - Jan filers

Oct - Feb filers

and so on...

At this point I really have no expectations for them to speed up the process in any way unless transferring people to CSC. Hopefully the average timeline for VSC filers doesn't exceed 9 months because this will be harsh on all of us. I am already 8+months and I am expecting to wait at least 2 more months before I hear anything, but then again this will put me in 10 months compared to CSC Nov filers that only waited 6 months. Meanwhile I will be taking out my frustration in long posts on VJ LOL

Dude, they are hardly working on October and few november cases.

With this speed, they will maybe finish november cases by Mid August, then december cases Mid August until end of november, Then january in October.

I know i dont sound optimistic, but thats an "optimistic estimate". A pessimistic estimate would be January - march of 2016 and then me seeking extension of GC. I am not looking to file citizenship yet.

Hi Guys I need advice, obviously my green card expired and I am on this stupid extension. I just got a new job, when I fill out the i-9 form can I put the expiration date as 3/26/2016 and not the date that appears on the card which is 3/26/2015? And do you think the new job will create a problem because my status will technically expire in 2016? Do you think they will understand that I have a green card and I am just in the process of renewing it?

Any word of wisdom will help :)

Thanks!

You don't need to show your green card, just show your Driver's License and Social Security Card instead

You are a Permanent Resident! Use the date(s) on the extension letter. By 2016 your GC should have come through so your job shouldn't give you any trouble at all!

Do you not have a driver's license or state ID you can use?

I do have that but some places ask to see the green card, I hope these guys wont do that and I hope that even if they will they wont freak out. My point is that its not fair for us to stress over these things if we are completely legal, we have the right to work and we shouldn't face problems like that.

According to the I-9 employers cant ask to see the green card that is discrimination. you have the choice of what documents to show them. I don't know my wife is going through the same thing with her employer, they are asking to see the new green card. I guess I just cant understand why the employers don't accept the extension letter. I specifically states you are granted one year extension to work and travel. Why do they make it so hard?

Couldn't renew my drivers license coz of this, DMV said they need to see the new Green Card. They totally disregarded the extension letter, I was told tho that if I can get a sticker on the card showing the extension from USCIS then they will acknowledge the expired card
