Hello All. We are getting ready to file AOS. I need to know where do I find the Visa Number in the passport? There are three numbers on the visa (the control number, the Passport number, a number in red that begins with a Letter). What is the correct number? :ranting:

Also I need to know where to find the I-94 number. There is a white I-94 Card stapled inside of the passport. The card has a permanent number already printed on the card, and then there is a number written in ink in the boxes below that number. Which one of these numbers is the I-9 Number?

Also do we really NEED to do the I-131 or just the Form I-485, I-864, G325A and G1145? We are not planning to travel soon.

I am a little confused. :girlwerewolf2xn: Please help? Thanks in advance.

The visa number is the numbers in red, the only numbers in red you will see in the visa.

The I-94 you can print it from http://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/i-94-instructions if you can not find it today, wait a few days to be in the system. But you got a paper I-94? I am not sure which one, haven't seen a paper I-94 in a long time... Check the I-94 online and see if it is the same number.

The I-131 is the travel document, or Advance Parole, you don't need to apply for it, but if you have it now, you won't loose time in get the advance parole if you have to return to the DR for an emergency, like a very sick relative etc.

The I-765 is the Employment Authorization which you should get, and be able to work while waiting for the AOS.

Good luck :)

The paper I-9 is like a folded white index card stapled inside his passport. It's an official government form because it has Form 1-9 printed in the lower right hand corner. The Customs in Miami filled it in with black ink. They stamped his entry in the upper left hand corner and wrote in the arrival date and estimated departure date.

But anyway thanks for the good info, but I have another question. I went to the site that you listed and sorry if i'm a little dense, but I could not find the section where I put in his information to check his on-line I-94.

Could you walk me thru it please  ? Thanks

There should be like a tab on the right, it says "Get I94 number Now"

After you click where it says this info is for official issue etc, it will direct you to another page, and you fill out the last and first names, birth day, passport number and country of issuance. Just write it like it is in the passport.

I remember the I-94 paper, I meant that I do not remember which numbers you should use. I think it should be the printed big numbers on the top left corner, like 11 digits. I would get check on line to see if its the same numbers, but just in case take photocopies of of what they gave you, just in case. You said it has a 1-9? or I-9? odd because that is for the job verification thing.

Did your husband also brought the birth certificate? it needs to be translated for the AOS.

Ok I'll try it that way.

The form is -CBP Form I-94...sorry I meant I-94, and yes there is a bold printed 11-digit number in the upper left corner.

Yes he brought his birth certificate (long version) and thanks we will get it translated.

Thanks again.

OK, I went to the site and found his I-94 and the record number is not the BOLD number but the numbers that were written in the boxes below the BOLD numbers. So glad I doubled checked and so thankful for your help.

Thanks again.
