Hi everyone!

I just got an email from NVC (Welcome Letter) with my mother's NVC Case number and Invoice Number.

On the second page, it also gave a list of documents to be submitted to NVC. It says Police Certificates too.

Will this be okay to send to Hong Kong along with the other requirements to get a police clearance from Hongkong or should I wait till they send me an official checklist letter? What is NOA2? I forgot all the acronyms, Its been a long time since I went to the process.

Any experience you share here is also appreciated. I have seen old posts regarding this however they are too old that I dont even trust any information there anymore.

HK police took my wife's NVC letter just fine instead of waiting for the checklist. She was living there at the time and was told expressly by a clerk at the HK police department, in person, that it was fine.

Police clearances for Hong Kong will be sent by the police authorities directly to the U.S. Consulate General. The Consulate General will liaise directly with NVC when the police clearances are received.
There is no need to confirm the receipt of your police clearance with either the Consulate or NVC. Please note that failure to apply for a police certificate at least 6 weeks before the scheduled interview
date may result in a delay with processing the visa application.

We sent an email to USEM to confirm receipt just to make sure. No problems. The system seems to work well.

It only took 12 days for HK police to do that, but I would still follow Greenbaum's 6 week recommendation to make sure.

Ours had no mailing delays because my wife was able to transact business with HK police in person. International mail probably would have added 2 weeks onto that.

I applied for a CNCC from the Hong Kong Police in 2010 and the document has been processed per receipt I received from the certifying agency. NVC sent me a welcome letter last August 31, 2015 of my F3 visa application but surprisingly the attachment shows that no CNCC is the list. US embassy in Manila also ask the same document. Where is the CNCC I applied and processed by the Hong Kong Police?
