Spouse Entered US on CR1 2 months back: Spouse received USCIS letter for Biometric

My spouse entered US on CR1 (first time entered in US). approx 2 month back.

Now we got letter from USCIS for Biometrics with date and time of biometrics appointment?

It says

Case type OS155A - Immigrant visa and alien registration.

Any idea? why this is and what is this for?

Green Card biometrics.

thanks..

Embassy took her fingerprint and photo at time of visa 3 months back

When she entered they took photo and finger printing 2 months back.

So why once again.... Is this normal ?

My guess is there might have been an issue with the fingerprints they took, so they need to do it again. It does happen. You could also give them a call and ask.

From your answer it looks like, it does not happen with everybody (i.e. it is not a normal process.)

Do they give answer on the call that why they scheduled biometrics?

No it's not normal, but it's not unusual either. Usually as the other poster stated, if there is an issue with fingerprints they'll call you to set up a time to do biometrics again. It's not a big deal.
