Hi everyone

I Received notice that I didn't submit I-693 with my I-485 and that if i receive an interview notice in the mail then to bring the completed I-693 to the interview or if I dont need an interview then I will get a RFE. THe letter advised not to mail anything until i get either of the above.

I am assuming that EAD and AP are in process. No update.

Just received the above today. Dated 3/3 and postmarked 3/4.

Our receipt letters finally arrived today! Now just to wait for the biometrics appointment letter! Eek!

Has anyone had their biometrics appointment or know what it will entail? I know it's fingerprints and to show ID etc. is it as simple as that? I swear this process is designed to stress you out!

Also, I should think I'll have to go to Atlanta GA or Jacksonville FL. Have any of you guys been to either of those offices? If so, what are they like?

Thanks!!

britingeorgia,

congrats!!!!

When did you mail your application?

I have no idea what that appointment entails, but I would assume that you should go to the Atlanta office since you live in Georgia. But i actually don't know how they decide that. I live in Atlanta so hopefully they won't send me to stupid Florida, haha

Hi flyr, thanks for the update! I have not heard anything about our case after the biometrics but I fear that I might get a similar letter. I did not submit I-693 or DS 3025 (vaccination records) because I do not have a copy of them. I explained in a separate letter that they can check my medical records in their system. So far, no news if that move was effective or not.

Here you go:

5. Go to your Application Support Center appointment (fingerprints)

After you file your application, you will be notified to appear at an Application Support Center for biometrics collection, which usually involves having your picture and signature taken and being fingerprinted. This information will be used to conduct your required security checks and for eventual creation of a green card, employment authorization (work permit) or advance parole document.

Hey czechtn! Thanks! We mailed our app on 18th Feb, it was signed for on 26th Feb at USCIS and then we received our e-notification on 3rd March. Our paper receipts didn't arrive until today (11th March).

I heard that you wont always be sent to the closest office for your appointment. They take into account the 2 or 3 nearest offices depending on your address and send you to the one with the soonest appointment if its considerably sooner. I'm down in south west Georgia so theres only the difference of 30 mins drive between me driving to atlanta or driving to jacksonville so its not a huge problem either way. We would prefer Atlanta though I think as its the slightly lesser drive and we know it quite well.

Is your appointment soon?

Thanks PauPau! That puts my mind at ease! Sounds pretty straight forward! Appreciate your help!

britingeorgia,

I still haven't received any mail. I called the USCIS today and they said that they mailed it FEB 20 ... for all I know I might have already missed my appointment. USCIS won't do anything for another 10 days:((

Thanks for letting me know about the offices ... I did know about this, thank you!

I feel for you, I really do! Everything takes such a long time. You got your e-notifications though, right? I guess keep in mind the weather over in Chicago and most of the rest of the country is apalling right now so everything seems to be taking forever to mail and also a backlog due to snow days etc. This seems to be the worst possible time to apply!

Just a suggestion, and I know its probably a silly one, but have you tried contacting the processing centre in Atlanta with your ref number to see if they have an appointment booked in for you? I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help you if it meant you not missing an appointment you were unaware of!

It seems that most peoples appointments are booked in for a month ahead of time though, so fingers crossed, even if you dont get anything within the next 10 days, at least if they tell you over then phone at that apoint that your appointment is in an hours time, you already live in the city youre most likely to have your appointment. Silver linings 'n all that!

Fingers crossed for you!!!!

i called the USCIS, yet again, to tell them that I have not received any mail and the lady put down a "service request". Does anybody have any experience with that? Also, has anyone ever used "infopass"? thank you!

Bring a copy of your 131 receipt in case they are willing to also store your biometrics once that appt comes through so you won't have to go back!!! They asked us a few times if we had proof then they could have done that.

Wow I just realized I don't have the hard copy of I-131. :shocked:And my biometrics letter only have two barcodes for AOS and EAD.

Anyone here who is in the same situation as me? Would this mean that I will receive a separate biometrics appnt for I-131 and then I have to go back?! :shocked:I hope not since they have my fingerprints on file already!

I got my Biometrics appointment today! Yay!

Letter was dated 6th March but didnt arrive until today (13th March). Just 16 days from USCIS receiving our initial package.

My appointment is for 26th March - Less than 2 weeks away.

Its at Jacksonville Forida. I live in Georgia and my closest office is in Atlanta - So this proves the theory that they look at several offices closest to you and give you the soonest appointment possible rather than the closest one.

Would have preferred Atlanta since its that bit closer but delighted we have our appointment so soon!

Our appointment is super early in the morning so we are going to have to stay over at a hotel the night before. Suits me just fine :)

How is everybody else doing?

Yayyyy for you getting your appointment ...just got out of mine and Im kinda mad and worried, 2 of my fingerprints were rejected by the computer even tho the lady tried a few times :( and for what I've been reading it all means they'll send me a new date for another appt which means my process will get delayed for a few weeks :/
