Wow!! Congratulations to all those approved! So much good news today :dancing:

After receiving my EAD card yesterday, we went ahead and opened a joint account today :) And I'll be having my exam next week for my driver's license.. Things are going pretty fast after getting the EAD card. :dancing:

Any K1 applicants from California here?

Our NOA is 2/17, did the biometrics in March and until now status says that im scheduled for interview (no specific date yet). We are starting to worry since majority here have their EAD's already. We applied for the EAD but not the parole.

Any idea if the processing here in California slower than other states? How long is the average wait?

Hi guys!

My interview is next week and I'm just wanting to get some feedback on my evidence.
I've used an attorney the whole way so this is the first section we have had to do!

A little back ground: My wife and I have been together for 6 years now. We met in Australia and she stayed! We got her perm residency there and never thought about moving to the US until DOMA was shut down.
because we are BOTH starting again we don't have a lot of evidence. We live rent and bill free with her Grandma and live off our savings so have no income coming in.
I don't drive (have literally never sat behind the wheel of a car) so am not on our joint car payments, etc.
This is what we have:
PASSPORTS
BIRTH CERTS
DRIVERS LICENSES
12 letters from different gov orgs proving same address
SSN IN MARRIED NAME for both
WEDDING CERT
2x JOINT CREDIT CARD (statements for both)
JOINT BANK ACCOUNT INFO FROM BOTH AUS AND USA
INFO RE OUR DOGS FLIGHT OVER SHOWING BOTH NAME
PLANE TICKET PRINT OUTS
EMAILS FROM HOTEL, COURT HOUSE, MAKE UP ARTIST, PHOTOGRAPHER FOR OUR WEDDING
BILLS SHOWING WIFES FAMILY PAID FOR WEDDING
75 PHOTOS in Album from last 6 years
All evidence and applications from first application through to now
Tax info showing spouses from AUS
Joint sponsor updated tax and pay slips and passport

Am I missing anything?

Just checked our case status and it says our interview is scheduled for May 28th! It only said our case was ready to be scheduled for an interview for maybe 3 or 4 days before that!

Still no Work permit update but I guess it's great news we've been scheduled for our interview so soon!!

Eek!

Here's our timeline:

Feb 18th Posted I-485, i-130 & 1-765

Feb 27th NOA

March 13th received biometrics letter - apt scheduled for March 26th

March 24th received RFE re affidavit support.

March 26th attended biometrics apt.

March 30th sent response to RFE.

April 21st status changed to "ready to be scheduled for an interview"

April 24th status changed to "interview scheduled" - apt set for May 28th. Await letter.

Still no update on work permit! Didn't apply for advance parole as didn't plan on leaving the country any time soon!

We're in Georgia but our biometrics was carried out in Jacksonville FL instead of Atlanta even though Atlanta is closer!

From all the reviews online and the way we were treated when we attended biometrics, it seems Jacksonville is a really great uscis office.

Do you think we have anything to worry about? Is anyone else's situation running as quickly as this without the work permit part? We'd heard the work permit is usually the quick part!

Thanks!

Joul,

when the interview is set depends on your local office, however your work permit is coming from the national visa center so it doesn't matter whether you are filling from California or Wyoming. My work permit got approved two days ago, but I also haven't heard anything about my green card since the biometrics (at in atlanta).
