Hi everyone!

I filled for AOS, EAD and AP in February. AP and EAD were received on 2/13 and still no change on the website status. We filled through the Chicago office.

Has anyone who filled around that date seen any change yet?

I really need my AP ASAP!

I have the same NOA date and I haven't received any updates! Its making me anxious!

Is there a post strictly for AOS from K1 visa? I'm getting very disheartened w the other AOS progress but when I check it's from different visas. So how can we know just how long it will actually take in our situation??? Anyone know? I went back to my old thread from K1 and was told their EAD & AP had taken 90 days...the interviews were mostly waived so 10-12 months was the typical approval for the AOS portion.

That's what I was thinking. I have been trying to get an idea from previous approvals but you are right, they are from different visas. I was told it would be 90 days as well. Today will be 64 days and my status hasn't changed since the biometrics letter was sent out.

Gina,

We are in the exact same boat. So I have 90 days marked on my calendar. We will start trying to push it after that. Because this false sense of delay is just driving me crazy and it shouldnt because it's ,a totally different process. My conf #starts w MSC and its stuck in that office so obviously nothing has been done to date.

Huge hugs girl and let's try to not let this discourage us too much!!

There is NO difference at all for EAD timelines based on visa type. No matter what visa you have all EAD apps. have the must be approved by 90 days rule. Most are approved before that but some take longer because the center that has your app is backed up not because you have a K-1 or visitor or work visa. My Case Starts with MSC and I'm adjusting from a tourist visa but I know a lot of K-1's that their case starts with MSC too so that mumbo jumbo about someone adjusting from different visas has longer or shorter timelines for AOS is not true. THE ONLY exception is for the green card where K-1's MIGHT get interview waiver which does delay their case significantly. Don't get stressed about everything you read.

Congrats to Everyone Who is having Progress on this thread! and to those who are a little stuck and frustrated you will get an update when you least expect it! that's what happened to me. Good Luck!

Thank you for your responses czechjtn, Angel012110 and deeder.

Yesterday I sent a request for my EAD but not for I 485 (I didn't send AP). I was told they have 15 days to give me a response.

1. Should I also send one request for my I-485 too?

2. Is the biometrics for both I-485 and I-765?

3. Why would I need an info pass? Did you do that?

thank you again!

Hello Pao & Zach,

1. you need to send the request for all your pending cases, so yes, do it separately for i-485 on their website as soon as possible

2. yes, it is for both. it said at the bottom of your letter ... at least it does on mine:)

3. infopass is the only way to talk to a uscis officer about your case in person (to tell them something or ask something when your case is little messes up). to do that, you need that info pass

Thanks for all the replies!

New question for those who already got approved: how long after the status change to "card in production" did you receive the actual card? Is it possible to pay for expedite shipping?

Hi, just to let you know I got approved for my EAD/AP on April 8th, my status changed to 'we have mailed your new card to you' on April 14th and I received the card in the mail 2 days later. 8 days from approval to actually having the card in hand.

Hope this helps! :)
