I had my biometrics apt today and it went smoothly as far as I can tell! Staff at Jacksonville are nice!

You wait in a room with about 20 other people, you all go I to another room together where they have you fill out a form about your personal details, then they call you up one at a time to have finger prints taken and a photo. Then they take you out all at the same time and you're done! Nothing to worry about at all! I was in there for 45 minutes maximum but the actual process only takes about 10 minutes!

The evidence we had to send was a letter from my sponsors new boss confirming ongoing employment info for our affidavit of support as my sponsor only just started their new job a few weeks before signing the papers. Nothing scary luckily!

Hey Guys,

My status changed yesterday. Does this mean, the documentation provided is fine and I cannot get an RFE anymore?

"As of March 25, 2015, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC159XXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice"

Hi!

unfortunately, it means that your interview is about to be either scheduled or waived. however, until the message says "being printed", "producing" ...cant remember the exact words now, you can still receive an RFE.

on the other hand, things are moving for you either way:))

It only means that they 'have not yet' found any problem with your application packet.

This lowers the probability that you will get a RFE but does not eliminate the chance.

Others have gotten RFE even after the interview . . . but seems rare.

holy cow ...i just checked my status and for the i485 it says:

On March 29, 2015, we scheduled you for your interview and mailed you an interview notice for Receipt Number MSC1590XXXXXX. Your interview is on April 30, 2015. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your interview notice by April 28, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

i can't believe this, how is this possible? the status of my work permit and advance parole haven't change so does that mean the FBI was able to work with the 8 fingerprints they got? (i posted about 2 of my fingerprints being rejected by the computer) or that doesn't have to do anything with the i485?

is it common to get a date for the interview before getting approved for the other things??????

im so excited and confused at the same time

Do you have a date already?

I'm just so shocked, if I go that interview that day and get approved (hopefully we do) that means my case only took 2 months and half. That's amazing

Hello,

i hope everyone's cases are going well without any major issues!!!

I think most of us had the biomerics done and now we are just waiting for the work permit. My question is, what do I do about my drivers license? It expires with my i-94 in 2 weeks and I still don't have the work permit (which I need for new drivers license). Anyone else facing the same problem?

Doesn't Really Delay The Process that much just 1 or 2 weeks until they receive your Information and Process it. I think the EAD reset timer thing is not true as I have seen people get RFE's and Their EAD is approved soon after.

Thank you for the encouraging answer. We hurried as much as possible sending the RFE to the center. And just two days later I got a status update for my i-485 saying that they received my RFE and will now continue to work on application. I should hear from them in around two months regarding a decision, unless interview or fingerprints are needed before.

I was super relieved and impressed that they continued to work on my application without a delay. But what worries me is that during the time they had stopped working on it due to the need for an RFE, my fingerprinting took place. When I went to the appointment I did not know my case was put on hold and I do not think the employees there knew about it or otherwise they would have mentioned something, wouldn't they ? It was shortly after that I got the RFE mail...Now does that mean that the fingerprints that were done while the case was "on hold" are invalid and that I will have to get a new date for them or will they still accept the ones that were taken already ? The other applications did not show any change and still said "case was received" the last last time I checked. I hope that everything is fine now with the application. We both checked really carefully and were bummed about our mistake...:-S

Do you think that if there was anything else missing they would have let us known at the same time as the RFE we got, meaning we are out of problems now? Or could it be another one could be sent ? We checked everything many times again and just do not think something could be wrong, but of course, mistakes are possible.

Thank you again for the help and best of luck to all of you

We called USCIS today and requested expedited processing on my wife's I-131. The person I talked to said the reasons for the request met 2 of the criteria required and didn't indicate there would be any problem. This evening I checked the case status and it hadn't changed, however under case history it now says:

  • 03/30/2015

On March 30, 2015, your request to have your case expedited, referral number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, was completed.

I requested my EAD Expedite on March 26 and on March 27 I saw the same thing under my case history. So it could mean anything. Until you get a letter in the mail you wont know. It could be instantly approved, Denied or Further Evidence could be required. If I get my letter before yours I'll let you know what it says.
