Finally have the interview date. Has been a long road to this point. What are some general questions that are asked at the interview? John already has the train and hotel booked from Scotland and the time is narrowing down and he's already nervous. I suppose everyone is nervous before that day and the day of too.

Some questions that have been asked in the past...not all to the same person are:

How did you meet?

Where are you going to live?

How many times have you visited there?

Has he ever been married or have kids? (checking up to see if he told you if the answer is yes)

Where kind of work does he do?

Have you met his family?

How did he propose?

When, where do you plan to marry?

Why do you want to move to the US instead of him coming here? (That's an old question and I think the person who asked that is gone now)

It's a chat. You can say I don't know or I don't remember. Or you haven't met the family. They live 700 miles from him. My husband never actually proposed with a ring. That's okay to say we just sorta agreed to marry without an official engagement date. Or I plan to marry as soon as I can after you approve my visa. Really easy and often only about 3 questions.

Great, thank you so much! That will calm him :) Really no longer than fifteen minutes sounds like. That's good!

My favorite was one of the guys was asked "How many times have you visited the United States?

He said "I dunno. Lots."

No problem.

Best to be relaxed and talk easy about your fiancé than sound like you memorized some answers.

LOL too funny! Sounds effortless. He will be okay. I guess most people are nervous about that day. I know he has everything he needs; it's just waiting for that day now. This is the longest we have been apart without him coming to see me. Seems forever until then so we are hoping all goes smoothly.

The interview section is more like a minute, mostly about paperwork.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

If you're still feeling nervous, read the London Embassy consulate reviews that other members have posted, gives you a good feel for how the morning will go :)

The way I see it, is if you know your fiance inside out (which you should ;) ) then it won't be an issue. I'm actually not too worried about the interview, just getting all the paperwork in order!

Thank you all so much! I will only be nervous that day because I will have to wait however long it takes before I can hear from him, since no mobiles or electronic devices are allowed. :) I'm not worried but he is really nervous.

You can take a phone in now! Just not personal laptops (but tablets are ok).
