There are plenty of "no justice, no peace" folks out there who believe anything bad said about Zimmerman must be absolute fact. Conversely, anything positive must be a right wing fabrication. An important part of the story isn't seen in the short quote from the OP, but it's an important consideration:

Don't worry - in some people's eyes (read: the Cult of Holder) GZ was always guilty until proven innocent (and would NEVER be proven innocent in spite of any facts presented).

Zimmerman makes headline news, when a average person never would. Poor Guy.

He was caught speeding near my town couple years ago in Texas, He was let go with a warning and no ticket. Of course the national news had to headline it like "Armed Zimmerman pulled over for Speeding in Texas"

Zimmerman seems to want the attention too. People in his situation with half a brain and a little self awareness would realize they are going to draw additional scrutiny and attention in those situations. Most people would avoid encounters with law enforcement and the media.

It's the same behavior now as got him in to this situation in the first place. He's not being made a target by someone else. He is doing it to himself.
