I just had a TX marriage as a TX resident. You can print out I-94 like a day after arrival, maybe even same day. Not completely sure about that. You will need it & copy of Passport to apply for marriage license. Then wait 3 days, I believe, & you can marry with it. We actually married without supplying anything other than the marriage license. What I've listed for you is what you need to get the marriage license. You, of course, as the USC will need ID as well. So don't forget that & don't forget your money.

Goto the county webiste where you are going to get married to see their requirments as far as ID and time between Marriage License and actually getting married and the costs involved and how to schedule the marriage ceremony--remember GIYF. Dallas County Marriage Licenses.

For us, we needed any form of ID. That was my DL and my wife's foreign passport. She did not need a SSN and the court actually has no right to request one, but usually if you have one, you give it to them. I can still print out the last I-94 of my wife's entry on her K-1 and that was before the CBP went to the electronic form. I would print out a copy as soon after her arrival as it is available so you can see if the information was entered correctly and get that taken care of before filing for AOS or the SSC as the SSA will look her up based on the information in her passport and if it does not match the I-94 there wil be delays and problmes getting a SSN--you might want to give it a couple of weeks to be sure all databases have been updated.

Most people forget to have a couple of friends go along to the wedding as witnesses. We just showed up and the judge married us and signed the Marriage License and our friends signed the License too. We did not have to wait for other to show up to act as witnesses plus we have our friends name on the Marriage Certificate, not strangers. I then took the Marriage Certificate up to the County Clerks office to have it recorded and had them make 6 certified copies right there on the spot. The next week I received the original Marriage Certificate back from the County Clerk. YMMV on these details as this is very state and county specific.

Good luck,

Dave

It just really seems to sum up that all the waiting and long distance was worth it in the end :) it's written all over your faces. Truly beautiful! You should have it made into a canvas.

Anyway, I'll stop hi-jacking the thread

Check the requirements for the marriage license in the county you will marry. If you do not have an SSN, you will not be required to provide it (even if the instructions say REQUIRED).

The only thing you should need would be the ID. Your fiancé's passport should work just fine for this.

I then took the Marriage Certificate up to the County Clerks office to have it recorded and had them make 6 certified copies right there on the spot.

I did the same, except for 7 certified copies. After official uses and souvenirs for the respective mothers, we ended up with one copy for ourselves.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
