Im in the midle of the process to bring My two minor stepchild? I Just want to know how they can get citizenship from me??? Im a us citizen, bringing as ir2 My two minor stepchilds, they born in 2008 and 2009, marriage was in 2011 to their dad!!

The only way for them to get US citizenship from you is for you to legally adopt them before age 18. As an adopted parent, they will automatically get US citizenship for you.

A child can not get US citizenship from a stepparent.

Alternatively, when their dad gets US citizenship, he can pass it along to them if they meet all the Child Citizenship Act.

1- As mentioned above, if they have green cards and you adopt them, they would get automatic citizenship through you. You'll need to consult an adoption lawyer because there's probably lots of paperwork. The biological mother's consent may or may not be needed, but you'll have to research this.

2- Is their dad coming here too? If so, they will automatically become US citizens when he becomes a citizen after three years as a permanent resident married to a US citizen. This is probably the easiest way, but you didn't say what the dad is doing.

3- If that's not the case, then they can keep their green cards and apply for naturalization on their own when they turn 18.
