My wife and I went to the interview yesterday and she was given an RFE for 3 vaccinations that she has to get, called around to several of the civil surgeons and the cheapest one I found is going to charge $446 for the office visit and the 3 shots, but after that she will get her green card.

Wow, they required to have Hep B, Meningoccocal as well?. The price for Varicella is about 100 dollar or more, and Meningoccocal is about another 100 dollar. However, Hep B is not that expensive as I know. Therefore, the total of 3 shots will be around 250 dollar, so the civil surgeon charges 200 more to fill out the form 693. I got Hep A, B, and Varicella at Department of Health in my state which they charged to my insurance. Hence, I did not pay for the cost of 3 shots. Did you try Department of Health to get those shots, and then find the civil surgeon that can fill out the form 693 for you?

It was difficult to find any civil surgeons that actually do just the shots. I had to explain several times that she only required 3 vaccinations but most required a complete exam which is $270 plus the $319 for the shots....the cheapest that I could find was only $99 for the office visit and $319 for the shots. My insurance won't cover it because they said it is not medically necessary...BS

damn that's rough man - I'm a bit surprised that insurance won't do it because it is a health issue as well....

i think is cheaper if:

1. go to ethnic clinic, get em done for 10 to 20 bucks per and then

2. have the nurse there write it into an international shot record card and then

3. go to a civil surgeon for any I-693 transcription service.

Finally got this problem solved...Civil surgeons are crooks!! the doctor tried to con me and my wife in to having another complete physical exam done. She said that immigration will not accept the new vaccination supplement without the full I-693 done. That means new chest x-rays, blood tests and another round of vaccines. I explained that the case worker from USCIS just wanted the updated vaccination supplement and a new physical exam did not need to be completed. This doctor told me that the case worker was wrong and my wife would be denied!!! I was really pissed off and told the doctor that I am going to take the word of the case worker who is the person making the final determination, over a doctor that just wants to make an extra buck!!! I feel very sorry for people that do not have a complete grasp of the language and don't have someone to advocate for them and look out for their best interests because these civil surgeons can definitely trick them into spending hundreds of extra dollars when it is not necessary....BTW my wife was approved and her card is in production!
