Visa approved!

Very quick and easy. Nice officer eas happy for us, said I should be home in time for the wedding on the 25th of July. She said it would take 3 weeks for it to arrive.

She put a big note on the front of my file saying fiance 28 weeks pregnant, wedding 25th July. I think that will help.

Happy to be finally approved.

Quick Question. I've heard that London sends packet 3 via email also. How long does it usually take them to send the email after receipt of paperwork from NVC?

They do not email. Read what happens here. Go to Post #2 http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

Two weeks to hear from them would not be unheard of.

Thanks...I appreciate it. I've read the page a while ago, but couldn't access from work, so I posted quick from my phone. My lawyer told me they would get email from London so wanted to see if anyone was familiar with that.

Thanks again!

Note for UK AOS'ers... if you have a Costco membership, they sell passport photos in sets of 4. We got 8 for under $10. :)

Bargain! I scanned and printed my pictures for AOS from a leftover K-1 picture. Still have my fingers crossed they've accepted them! No RFE yet so I think we're ok...

Chris I'm ready for you to start a new thread called "Hey Brits, how's your American life going?" now that you have moved on from the embassy drama. Let's hear the wedding stories, SSN success or drama, AOS filing...

Well, Tim and Michael are on their way to Portland for a 5 week visit. Tim learned something new today during his non-immigrant travel interview at the Dublin Airport. We always assumed that they interviewed him every time because of the B2 visa and that they knew he was coming here to visit his fiance. Nope, not true. The officer doing the interview told him that he is flagged due to the refusal for the 6 hour overstay. He also informed him that he would be interviewed every time that he travels to the US even when he has a green card. No matter how many times that he travels successfully in the future. He mentioned that it would be highly unlikely that he would get refused but for him to always allow plenty of time to get interviewed. He said that once he has citizenship the interviewing will stop but until then be prepared. Just thought I would share if anyone out there has the same situation.

Wonder of he could get off the list using TRIP? https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/11/kw/redress/session/L3RpbWUvMTQzNTA5MjQ0MS9zaWQveCppVDZFcG0%3D

CR1 approved today! Arrived at around 12.10 and was fourth in the line and spoke to some very nice people.

We were lit in at 12.30 and people starting getting called up at 1.00pm. Went to the first window and handed my documents which were all fine. He then asked for another passport photo which I had two of but were the same

As the one he had. He told me I needed one from the last 6 months so I had to leave the embassy and run round the corner to Goulds pharmacy to get one as I didn't have the change for the booth in the embassy.

Got back with my photo and went to the same window. Was held back in the line a little but all was well. Went to sit back down and was called to another window the lady was a friendly middle aged American women who asked me:

-where did me and my wife meet?

-how did we stay in touch? (To which I replied she lived in UK with me)

-who was my joint sponsor.

Then that was it I was approved and she mentioned the hold up visa printing.

Thanks for the info. I am not sure if it will work but it might be worth trying since we will be traveling to England/Ireland 4 to 5 times a year to spend time with his son.
