Thanks! The reasonI asked was because I'm in the U.S. from June 26th - July 20th, and so wanted to time it so I return to a letter from the embassy hopefully with an interview date early August. But I guess it can be pretty impossible to predict.

It looks that way. When we filed in early December, an 8-month process enabling us to get married mid-October seemed perfectly feasible. Cutting it fine now, so praying for an NOA2 by the end of the month!

• A hardware failure on June 9 halted the flow of biometric clearance requests from posts to the Consular Consolidated Database (CCD). Individuals who submitted online applications or were interviewed for visas on or after June 9 may experience a delay in the processing.
• The systems in place to perform required national security checks before we issue visas are experiencing technical difficulties. As a result, we are unable to print visas, regular passports overseas, and other travel documents.
• We cannot bypass the legal requirements necessary to screen visa applicants before we issue visas for travel.
• As a result, there is a backlog of visas waiting to be processed. We are working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue and to clear the backlog.
• The technical issues we are experiencing have disrupted or prevented some of the Department’s primary data-share partners from accessing visa records.

so it looks like those with visa in hand already will not be held up at airport or anything

so i was curious as to if maybe when they scan stuff it wouldnt read properly thanks for the reassurance though

Nobody has to do a security check before they can print your visa.

You have a visa. You are finished with the Department of State. Pilot has left the building.

Nobody needs to access your visa file. Your entire immigration paper file is in your possession.

Don't lose it.

They are answering people's questions on there about the outage.

They're giving the same canned response to everyone who posts...they've been given 2 replies and they're using it as a blanketed response for every question/ concern. So disgusted and fed up- thought I would be on cloud 9 tomorrow as we have our interview scheduled. This is the most unimaginable kick in the face.

So I was off work sick last Friday and made it my mission to get my LND number from the NVC. It cost me 27£ from a mobile phone juts to keep hanging up and cailing back. I then made my partner phone from her end she was on the phone for 3 hours due to a technical fault. I woke up at 5.30am so excited, chugging loads of coffee despite my partners "My ear was burning because I had the phone up to it the whole time" face and my "I can't believe I spent 27£ in 60 seconds on call" faces nothing was going to bum me out... Even when my letter from the embassy dropped on my door matt that very morning all I could do was laugh. Now Im sat here just trying to call Knightsbridge who seem to be the busiest doctors in England at this very point in time. I hope everyone else's visa process is coming along nicely and not to stressful - Have a great day!

I'm with TalkTalk, and have a land line plan that gives me free International calls (up to one hour per call). I use it to call my partner in the USA every day, and when I had to call the NVC of course I used it. Most mobile contracts (unless you have a specific International calls package in your plan) cost a fortune to use for overseas calls. PAYG mobiles would be even more expensive I suspect.
