Ouch for you and Kas, Chris. That's harsh to have to deal with that after almost getting to the finishing line

Hope Kas isn't too exhausted from the journey, though on the bright side, at least it's only a matter of hours before you will be in each others arms again.

Ah, so sorry Chris. So is he flying out of the UK tonight and then has a layover at KEF? I bet he never expected to add Iceland to the list of places he's stayed at!

Yeah, he's just gotten on his flight to Iceland. He's much happier now that he's actually moving, but the poor guy was a whole entire day in the airport. I bet he's excited to get into bed at the hotel. On the bright side, he'll be able to shower and have a solid breakfast in the morning. So all is not lost.

He was trying to tell me that he was going to sleep at the Iceland airport tonight because he hates spending "wasted" money. So, while he was dealing with the ticket agent at Heathrow, I purchased a room at a hotel a mile away from the Iceland airport--I'm not going to have my man sleeping on a bench in the airport... especially when his flight doesn't leave Iceland until 5 in the evening!

Well done Chris. I like to save money when I can, but sometimes you just gotta do what it takes to implement Plan B. And the money you saved elsewhere kinda evens out those emergency situations.

Chris - Oh man sounds like a travel nightmare! That's so nice of you to book him a hotel at his connection. I'm not sure I'd get the same treatment haha! I hope the rest of his journey goes smoothly.

My AOS package has been delivered! Just waiting for a lovely confirmation email and hopefully a NOA1 soon.

I get to pick Kas up in 3 hours! It's so surreal that I won't have to plan holding back tears for the goodbye. I've been cleaning the apartment all day making sure it's tidy and smells nice! I'm so incredibly happy to see him and to officially have him!

Again, I am so thankful to have found this community and rely on it throughout the thick and thin of this first initial step. Thank you again to anyone who has helped us along the way... Especially the forum god/dess (nich-nick)!

Hope everyone is doing well! @Chris, you must be over the moon that Kas has arrived!! Yay!!!!

After a wonderful wedding and mini-honeymoon we are getting all of our AOS stuff together. We are just waiting on the marriage certificate to be ready and we can send everything in. Do you know if Simon would be able to apply for a social security number now or if we need to wait? I am going tomorrow to change my name and he is going to come as well and hopefully get that part started.

There is still a long road ahead, but he has lots to do to stay busy while he waits for his working permit. Yay!
