ok so i have a quick question I'm not sure where to ask it

i just went to the doctors to get my vaccination records and i haven't had hep b

they said it consists of three shots over six months which is obviously way longer than i have till i leave

has anyone else not had these and been ok when it comes time for the medical?

obviously ill have to get them all before adjusting status.

thank you for any help you can give me!

Unless you will be 18 years old or younger when you adjust status, then you don't need Hep B. Not on the adult list.

Furthermore immigration does not hold you up waiting on all shots in a series if you are 17 and need Hep B.

We're a long way from the visa issued status that some of you are already at - we keep telling ourselves that we have to be patient!

We submitted the RFE back to CSC on the 13th April, now just waiting for them to process that and hopefully then we will go to NOA2 shortly.

I also applied for my Police Certificate online and am waiting for that to come, and also waiting for my doctors surgery to go through my paper records to establish what vaccinations I have/ haven't had. Once they confirm my vaccination status, I will get whatever vaccinations/ boosters that are necessary for AOS.

We were speaking on the phone tonight about how hard it is to be apart, but how much easier it is in today's world with so many easy and cheap forms of communication. I can't imagine how difficult this process would have been 20 years ago or so.

Great to see a good number of VJ'ers are making good progress, and even more so that some have reached the end of process and are finally about to be with their loved ones. Maybe good luck continue to shine on you all! :dancing:

Kas and I talk about this all the time-could you imagine not having access to whatsapp or Skype? That would be so incredibly difficult!

I hope you hear about your RFE soon-once you make it to the Embassy stages it's literally boom, boom, boom!

Good luck!

Did you make it out of AP this morning, Allison?

I'M HERE! Travelling yesterday was annoying since I felt sick all morning, but thankfully I felt much better by the long distance flight (which was delayed by 1.5 hours). I got 3 seats to myself :D. But the guys in front of me put their chairs all the way back throughout the entire flight :ranting:

POE was really easy, here's my review:

"When getting off the plane and heading to immigration, you head to the left into the "Visitors" section which takes you down an escalator away from everyone else. This was brilliant for me since there was barely anyone in the queue downstairs so I got to the front of the queue really quickly. I had about a 10-15 minute wait to be called up. When I was called up I said "I'm here on a K1 visa" and he took everything off me and asked me a couple of questions including "What's your fiances name?", "How long have you known him?" He also asked me "Do you know what a K1 visa is and how it works?" Umm...PRETTY SURE I DO, BUDDY! Then he went on to say "are you sure you want to get married?"

He told me I had 90 days to get married, that I shouldn't apply for a SSN before I get married (which I think is bull) and then put my files to one side and that was it! I wasn't sent into secondary processing and got to go straight through the doors into baggage claim. It didn't take long at all."
Expanding on what I said about the officer, he said specifically to not get a SSN until I was married...so not sure what to think about that?

hope you feel better soon! good luck with customs let us know how it goes!! :D

Safe travels Shana!

It is difficult to be apart, but you're right, thank god we have the internet! I mean 10 years ago we didn't have Skype on our phones so we could call each other on the go, or things like Whatsapp so we can text without huge charges. Now everything is so convenient!

I think the general consensus here is that it's easier to get a SSN before your married because of the nuisance changing your name from your documents makes the process slower, no?

I'm glad you made it to the States safe and sound! 16 more days for us! xxx

I added you! Kas received his e-mail 24 hours before it was delivered- We went into AP/Issued on Monday and by Thursday he had his visa. So hopefully you'll get yours by Friday, then!! :)

Kas is pretty much packed up for the most part, just a few bits and pieces as time ticks closer--his last day of work is 7 May. He's been staying at friends' houses in order to spend time with them before he says his goodbyes. His going away party is the first weekend in May, and I've told him to treat it like his stag party. He said that wasn't necessary, but I think things will still get a little crazy anyway!

We are doing good, just getting impatient and anxious-this whole process is so nervewracking no matter how you look at it! But our eyes are on the prize!
