Ok, thank you! Just starting to get a little worried as he had his medical 15 days ago, and still no letter so far.

The results would not have gotten to the embassy until April 7 at the earliest (Friday and Monday holidays in GB) so it's more like 10 days you have waited on them. When you get to 21 days, email them...even though they say six weeks.

Do you guys know if the Embassy works over the weekend or visas are issued? It is 6pm in the UK now and our status still says 'Ready' so I am not sure if we will get his visa in time for flying on 4/22. We will see. Our case creation date and status update just changed to both be 4/16 yesterday so I am hoping we are getting close!!!!

They don't work on weekends. I would have thought your visa status would have changed to AP today and issued. As that's not the case, he might not have his visa by the 22nd. From issued to received it was 5 business days. But I can't be sure since every case is different and you don't know how long you'll be in AP for.

Did you already buy a plane ticket??

No, we haven't bought it yet thankfully. Were waiting until issued. I am thinking we won't get it by the 22nd either ugh. I am soooooooooooo ready for him to be here! Final countdown.

Hoping he can fly next week at some point. We will miss our wedding food / wine tasting on the night of the 22nd but it could be worse! I will just have to bring one of my bridesmaids instead and hopefully he gets here a few days after. I am checking CEAC like a maniac.

The embassy closes at 530, give your mind a break. I hope it gets issued for you next week!

Yes, take a bridesmaid with you to food tasting because at least you'll have a second opinion. Share photos of the food selection on whatsapp or imessage to Simon so that he can feel somewhat involved.

I'm glad you didn't buy a plane ticket yet! That would be another trivial expense in this already expensive process!

Yeahhhhhhh...it won't be the same as with Simon but you're right, we can talk about choices over messaging and stuff like we always do. The final countdown! All of his friends and family get here in a few weeks for the wedding and everyone is soooooooo excited. I just need him here! I am spending this weekend making space in my closet for him!

Definitely glad he didn't get the flight yet - I wanted him too but as usual, he was sensible and it was the right choice. Fingers crossed for next week!!

Thanks Chris!! When is Kas coming over?!?!

Yes! The final countdown indeed! I'm excited to hear about your wedding, etc.! Kas and I are going to do the courthouse thing for government paperwork and have a proper wedding next year when there's more of a heads up for friends/family to make travel arrangements.

I understand that need for him here, trust me! I haven't seen Kas in person since late February for a quick weekend in New York.

I cleaned out some drawers and closet space for Kas last month-could probably stand to give one more look through, but would rather wait until I see exactly how much space he needs--do I sound like a hoarder with that statement or what?!

Kas will be here in 3 weeks -- May 8th! Three days before his birthday! I can hardly wait!!

I am so excited for everyone! I love hearing you all talk about closet space. How nice is that going to be when it is the main thing to worry about. :dancing:

We have been so blessed to have Tim travel over to the States and stay for 2 or 3 months at a time. He has had an entire closet for the last 2 years.

Congrats everyone on getting to be with the ones that you love!!!

My boyfriend said "I was going to unpack my clothes into the closet, but then I knew you would come here and organise it all so I've just thrown them in for now." He knows me too well >_>. I have a system!

Has Kas booked his flight, Chris?

One in Iceland and another in Seattle. But the Seattle flight to Portland is like 30 minutes. So it's not too bad. Definitely could be worse.

Ooof, one change is enough for me! I once had a flight with 2 changes (cheap as well!) but it was delayed so they put me on the next flight that went straight to Denver so it all worked out :D. Bet you're excited to have him over there!
