Hi everyone,

I have a question about UK process. When NVC reviews your docs, approves the case and then send it to the UK embassy, how do they contact you? Through email or by post? Do they send anything important?

I am thinking on going away for a month and I am afraid I will miss important correspondence from London embassy...

They "should" send packet 3, but this isnt always the case, and its importance is debated as the letter isnt needed except in some cases ive seen where people have been asked to being it to medical

my Fiance (the petitioner) was sent an email from NVC saying it had been sent to the US Embassy and then I got a letter (as the beneficiary) "packet 3" in the post about a week later from the US embassy saying they had received my Petition and what to do next.

The next steps after that is to:

Then you book your medical exam and gather all the required documents and then you send in your "notification of readiness form" through the US embassy website and then they send you a letter telling you to pay the embassy fee and courier fee "packet 4" after they receive your Medical Exam results, usually most interviews are scheduled within a month after your medical exam.

You have been given fiancé answers. There is no "packet 3" and such for you. Your interview date will be picked by the NVC and they will notify you. All you will have to do is attend your medical appointment before that date so your results can be at the embassy when you go to the interview. I would suggest you allow at least a week between your medical and interview. Edited by Nich-Nick

Just to be clear, I do not need to pay for the Visa before they will send the interview letter. Is that correct? I pay after I get the letter?

Thank you! :star:

By the way, your profile seems to be wrong. You selected IR1/CR1 (DCF) in the "filed for" category. Your timeline indicates you are not DCF where both live in the UK and the case is filed in London and never goes to the NVC. The process is different and you will get DCF answers instead of the answer you need for IR1/CR1 process.

Ou, I did not notice it before, thank you for telling me, I've just corrected it. I am CR1, my husband lives in the US and I am in the UK :)

We could get some kind of betting pool going. $5 on Thursday delivery.

I'd wager that I will be going crazy like you by Monday (our interview is on a Thursday, too). But, I am on the same bet... Thursday delivery sounds reasonable. :)

Fear not, it took 5 days for my CEAC to changed to AP then issued! It's an agonising wait since you're so close, I know. Hang in there!
