Oooh, congrats! Bet it feels great to have it in your hand at last! Not long to go before you jet off :). How long did it take from when your CEAC changed to Issued to get the email?

I'm sure it'll fly by. I updated my profile yesterday and couldn't believe it's been 6 months since I began this process, 7 months away from him so far! Crazy.

Yep it does feel great!! :) yeah only 13 days now!! the last days go by so fast I find but slow at the same time, hard to explain lol.

Well my CEAC changed to issued on thursday and I got the email on Monday, but I am sure it is because of the weekend. Then I checked my status tracking on DX and it said ready for collection the next day, yesterday.

Yeah the time goes by unbelieveably fast, I have been away from my fiance a total of almost 9 months now, there was a 2-3 month delay in the visa process that's why. I would of been there probably after only 7 months, but oh well you have to expect the unexpected, I am going to be flying out the day before my birthday ! :) lol

Off topic but have to rant - I work at the NHS dealing with referrals. There are 40+ home visits waiting to be done, so this afternoon a technician was free to do home visits and I book him 5 within the same area. He remarked yesterday jokingly on how that will affect his mileage. He didn't raise any concern, but now he's sat in the office huffing and puffing no doubt about much work he has to do now he's finished them all. We all have to work hard sometimes when the workload is heavy, buddy! I can tell he's annoyed but he won't tell me.

I can understand, even though I have about a month left until I leave I'm sure it will feel slow some days and fast others. I'm going to make the most of England before I leave, see all my friends and family and make sure I have everything sorted before I jet off for good. My mum is getting more and more emotional as the time goes on! Trying to cheer her up by saying we have Skype + she can visit me in America.

Ooh, thanks for that, so it wasn't an instant thing...good to know.

It will be 9 months apart from my fiance when I finally move over there. We've done 1 year before and because I've had this visa process to focus on it hasn't felt so bad actually. Definitely, this process is never the same for everyone. Hehe, you'll have a lovely present in the form of jetlag for your birthday!!

I always get jetlag! Sometimes it lasts longer, but no matter how tired I am by the time I sleep (always try and stay up until 10pm) I'll ping awake at like 4/5am.

Yep same happened for me, had my interview last tuesday 3rd March and it went into AP the wednesday and then issued the Thursday, then it was ready to collect the next tuesday. It would have been Saturday but I reckon maybe it wasn't delivered on the weekend. So that's why I had to wait until Tuesday, as it takes about two days for US Embassy to deliver it to courier.

So if your lucky you might yet yours Saturday but most likely Monday or Tuesday

I am surprised that I don't, I went to Florida in 2011 and I had a flight to Newark, New Jersey which was 8 hours and then another flight to Tampa Florida which was almost 3 hours and I can never sleep on the plane, also the night before I left England I didn't sleep much. When I got to Florida it was night so I did go to bed at about 10/11pm. Then the next day I woke at 8am and I felt very awake and I went to look around the area I was staying. Then I went to Colorado 4 days later and til I felt normal, I was in my normal routine. I adjust very quick.

Hehe Shana mike! I hate long flights or car rides! I get so impatient!!!!!!

Yeah long flights I find are just sooo boring and I can't sleep well sitting up, I have short naps but thats about it.

Woohoo! Got my email today saying my passport will be delivered tomorrow...BUT I'm working tomorrow so no one would be home to get it :(. I've had to rearrange it for Tuesday when I have a day off. Le sigh, so close yet so far.

Sorry for all the posts, but I just went ahead and booked my flight!! I've been eyeballing the prices for a long time now, I expected them to go up but they were at an all time low today so I just went for it. Now I know my passport is on the way I figured why wait? I'd kick myself if I waited until Tuesday and the prices shot up for whatever reason.

I fly out on April 20th, so it's not like I'm cutting it close if something wrong. I'm a bit of a worrier, so I always worry something will go wrong, but if I have to rearrange the flight then it's not the end of the world. Exciting times!

My Fiance booked my flight a few days before my Interview as it was at a very cheap price on STA travel.com and he just went for it as it would of probably gone up.

We were abit worried would there be a delay of the visa, but mainly I felt sure we had time. Luckily I was right and I got my visa on tuesday.

I think sometimes you just have to go for it, he booked for 24th March for me to fly out as I will turn 26 the day after and under 26 you get the flights much cheaper.

You have plenty of time and I am sure everything will be okay in your situation, I know what you mean about worrying though I am a big worrier too.

I am relieved everything for the k1 visa is all done, no worries now.

Oh my god... Jet lag is the worst... THE FREAKING WORST!!!! Dan's mom suggested I take melatonin though and I got over it much quicker this time. So I would recommend that :) you can get it at walgreens or costco, make sure your man has some waiting for you ;)

Glad you got your visa in time! Yeah, I bet you can breathe a sigh of relief, I'm sure I will when it arrives on Tuesday. There's a small nagging voice saying "but what if it gets lost before Tuesday?!" It's a curse this worrying nonsense!

Oooh, I've not heard of that before, will check it out. Whenever I've been over to America I'm up super early in the morning regardless of what time I go to sleep, it's so annoying. But I must admit it's not too bad after a few days. I try and stay busy and force myself onto a different schedule. I remember with the boy first visited me in England and he arrived in the morning and I had to keep him awake all day. Poor sod! I get in at 18:30, which means I'll probably be in Boulder for about 20:30 so I only have to stay up for a few hours before hitting the hay. Phew!
