Well you guys I probably won't be on the forum until after my interview now!! I tell a lie, I might be on tomorrow at work if it's not busy ;). I head to London after work then Thursday is the day!! Eeeeep. Got my backpack packed and I've checked my documents about 5 times now. I was up for walking to the embassy but my knee is effed from a run I did this morning so might have to get buses/trains :(. I prefer to walk but I'd only limp along and make things worse. Either way I think I'm all set to go get this visa =D.

-----------------

It's great! I've had a couple of "I feel overwhelmed by this move" moments but I think that's more the jet lag and hectic weekend than anything deeply rooted. It all happened in such a rush in the end it took me by surprise. Good luck for thursday!!!! I'll be thinking of you :)

Congrats!

I can imagine, it did happen very quickly for you! Even when I moved to Japan and it was a long build up to it I was still crazy overwhelmed when I got over there. I know America won't be as bad since I've been there multiple times before, but I'm sure there'll be a point where it will feel very scary, almost like a feeling of "this isn't just a vacation...this is now my home". How was the sister in laws wedding? Thanks!!

Our CEAC status updated again today, I imagine that is in response to our medical results being received? Perhaps packet 4 has also been plopped in the mail? We can hope!

Sounds like medical results have been received! Interview letter should be in a few weeks from here I reckon! :)

I don't mean it made me laugh, I mean I liked seeing it.

Thank you! Yeah it was so dark and creepy and I was exhausted. I was out of the Embassy within an hour, at 9am.

Oh wow, so early! I hope I get out quickly too, would rather saunter over to Euston with plenty of time to spare.

congrats everyone. our appt is next week and I think i am getting a bit nervous... sigh.

Good luck! It'll be fine!!

my curious on average how long does it take to get the K1 visa issued and ready to collect from the courier or sent by courier?

I looked on the status of my visa tonight I know abit early as I had the interview today, anyway my status is "Ready"

The lady at the interview said 2 weeks, but it seems people mostly get it quicker.

They probably say 2 weeks to cover their a$$ in case it takes longer in rare cases. I've usually seen people get it within 5-7 days.

I have just completed my medical for the K1 visa and am now waiting for my interview.

I need to be back in the US for March first as my sister-in-law (to be) will be getting married, but I doubt I will have my visa by then which is a bit of a shame, extra expense to keep flying back and forth etc etc but our wait has been far less than others and so far it's gone relatively smoothly so I am trying to focus on the positives!

I went and tried on wedding dresses for the first time yesterday and found a dress I LOVED which was totally unexpected as it wasn't something I would have chosen. The lady in the shop picked it for me, and is obviously excellent at her job, because I loved it! Trying not to get too ahead of myself though so will continue to shop around for awhile.

We are planning on doing the courthouse thing whilst we save up for a "real" wedding in July 2016. We are on a tight budget hence starting to look for stuff already so I can get a good idea in my head of what I need to be able to pay for :)

So... that's me!

Looking at your timeline you got through the whole visa process within a few months of sending of the I-129f!! I'm feeling rather jell at the moment lol. I'm guessing you went to CSC, right? We got out pack sent to CSC and received our NAO1 10.02.2015 and we still haven't heard anything back yet. Everybody else who is over there seems to have their response back within 20 days. . I know it's not so long since we sent it off but. . . . I'm just being rather impatient. Getting worried now thinking we're going to receive an RFE!

Congrats on you getting through the process so quickly! Oh and good luck for Friday! (My fiancé and I are planning on doing the same thing, having a courthouse wedding then having the real deal later this year)

quick question. I just realized our status on the consular electronic website updated march 3rd from February 3rd. I have not asked my fiancé if he submitted something as I just discovered this today. I know I told him to pay for his visa and register with courier svcs. Does this have an effect on CEAC site? I am just perplexed why our status would change. Perhaps since his interview is next week someone 'touched' the case?

Ours updated yesterday, too. I think it was a response to the medical results being delivered and stored in our file. I also hope it means packet 4/interview letter is not too far off!!?

I would imagine that those forms and payment would trigger a response as they would need to know that you've completed and paid for them.

When you got your interview date, did you only discover it through packet 4 or did you do some calling / emailing ahead of time?

Best of luck next week. xxx

Ok that makes sense. For packet four I the petitioner emailed the embassy and they emailed me back 12 hours later. They told me the interview date of my fiancé . I thanked them for getting back so quickly as it states a certain time frame to hear back with a response and hey said for non complicated cases they usually respond within 24 hrs. They did everything fairly quickly .

Congrats Shanamike!

My partner received this by text and email yesterday:

"Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number WAC**********. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.govwhere you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status."

Our journey is well under way! And it's being processed by the CSC and not the dreaded TSC!

Obviously we will have to wait for the hard copy to come through via post. Excuse my ignorance though, but is the above notification the "NOA1"?

"official Receipt Notice (Form I-797)" is generally thought of as the first Notice of Action. However as things get get more and more automated, the old paper notifications seem almost passé. You have been notified of action via email, right? But if you are asking for timeline purposes, you can see what date is on the paper notice or use today's date until you see which one USCIS puts for you. Edited by Nich-Nick
