Anyone know if a erroronous name on a passport is something needing changed? Additionally I've noticed they never even asked me about varicrlla. So there's nothing written down about that

My husband had his physical exam in London today. I thought surely crossing this piece off the list would put him a little more at ease since he is very anxious. However, he is an absolute nervous WRECK. There is a question on the medical form that says have you ever caused deliberate damage OR had trouble with the law because of a mental condition OR under the influence of alcohol or drugs? He left it blank to discuss with the doctor because he has had "trouble with the law" while "under the influence of alcohol." During university, he and some friends were out drinking. One of his friends punched a cab driver and they all ran away. The next day the police arrested all of the boys. Since my husband didn't do anything, he was never charged or prosecuted or sentenced or anything. Minor mishap if you ask me. Anyway, he has been freaking out about this stain on his record throughout the whole process (we started paperwork in January 2014, for reference). So there's that. Then he told the doctor how much he drinks (quite a few drinks once a week) and the doctor said in the US that qualifies as binge drinking. Why on earth would this doctor say that? Is that a warning of some kind? Surely the US doesn't prevent immigrants who like to legally party every now and then from entering the country? Lastly, my husband tested for high blood press and has to get some kind of note from his GP now. Has anyone else experienced this?

All in all, my husband is seriously losing his mind. There is seemingly nothing I can say to calm him down and it sucks we aren't together so I can't just give him a hug. He is BEYOND stressed out and I just need something, anything to calm him down. His interview is March 10. He is about as normal of a person as it gets. I see no reason why everything won't go smoothly but he won't listen to me. So now I am getting stressed out. It's just all an emotional nightmare at this point. If anyone has any stories of weird hiccups at the physical that turned out to be nothing or recent success stories during the interview even if you were a nervous wreck, please share with me so I can share with my husband.

Ugh, so annoying! Sorry to hear this. Are you able to get in to see the GP soon? It's good you have an interview already scheduled at least.

We are going through a similar experience needing a note from a GP but we need this before getting an interview scheduled. Simon had his medical a few weeks ago. He was prescribed anti-depressants as a teen a LONG time ago. He was honest about it which is good, but unfortunately this means he needed to go to his GP and get a note basically saying that he is fine and healthy now. The bad part is that he can't get in to see his GP until March 7!!! Simon is also getting very impatient and stressed out because right now we are just waiting and can't do anything! Oh, we are also trying to plan a wedding for May 2. Stressful!!

Does anyone know the timing after you get the note from the GP? Is it the same 4 days to get to London and then an interview is scheduled? We are keeping our fingers crossed that we get an interview day relatively soon.

We are trying to stay positive and hope that the May 2 date will still work. It is VERY stressful though!!

@Allison

The 4 days wait for medical to embassy is getting blood test results back from the lab. They could possibly send his results the day or next day after they get clearance from his GP. Delivery is by courier and arrives shortly after dispatch.

Our journey is just starting. After spending a good few weeks going through all the forms meticulously, gathering all the evidence required and double checking EVERYTHING, our I-129F was posted on 23rd Februay. Now just waiting for the NOA1 to turn up by text and by hard copy. Also hoping beyond hope that as my partner lives in Ohio, our file will be assigned to the CSC and not the dreaded TSC. Fingers crossed!

Hmm, I suppose any forms you've filled out with your passport number on might be affected? I'd do a search here on VJ to see if anyone else has renewed their passport during the process.

Eeeep, so exciting! I think you might be there by now?? You said this 9 hours ago. Hope you have a lovely reunion :). I know I'll be so happy to land in America after all this waiting!

Congrats! Your journey has indeed begun. I found myself getting really antsy about everything until I started posting here! After doing a quick search I think Ohio is at CSC! Fingers crossed for you indeed!

As for me, I'm just twiddling my thumbs waiting for my interview next week. Getting copies of my police certificates and my birth certificate today. Feels like it's taking ages for March 5th to get here!

Thanks Shana.mike! This forum and its members have been an enormous help. Plus we spent ages going through everything carefully and double and triple checking . Fingers crossed it will go straight through with no RFE (I think 7 trips to see each other in 2 years (in two different countries/ continents), with itineraries, boarding passes, hotel bills and photos is more than enough!)

Just waiting for that NOA1. Any day now... :clock:

And good luck with your interview next week. I shall keep my fingers crossed for you, though I am sure you'll be absolutely fine

I know the feeling! I felt really nervous sending it off because I was worried there might be something wrong! But no RFE's :). I'm sure you'll be fine too, 7 trips is a lot! I seem to recall the NOA1 taking about 5 days after we got the email saying it was there, but US post made it seem longer!

How are you doing with document hunting for the interview?

Thanks!! I think I'll be ok...I think I'll get a little antsy because it all builds up to that interview and the person saying if you're approved or not! Though with 13 years history I think we'll be ok...

Start a new thread because you have a legitimate process question. It is lost in the chatty "I got my interview" thread.
