Don't worry, it will soon be here. Time is a funny old thing. I fly out in 18 days, but have had my visa since July (December was always our planned arrival date for numerous reasons). At one point that seemed like a lifetime away. Now it feels like I am running out of time to say goodbye to family and friends, pack, get organised, finish up my current job! I swear, the whole not being able to work initially on a K-1 visa rule is for our benefit - we all need three months to recover from all this!

It'll be a similar situation for us - April/May is our planned arrival date.

I know it'll be here soon, I'm just being impatient haha. I think it'll all speed up after Christmas, I have alot going on after Christmas so things will be happening, rather than right now where all I have on is work.

Still waiting for notification from the courier.

I agree about the time going fast and slow. When we started in February and knew that it would take about a year it seemed like forever. After we got the interview date November dragged. I felt like November had 35678924 days. It never seemed to end. Once December 1st arrived it has raced by and now here I am on my last day of work and leaving the country on the 19th and thinking I'm going to run out of time to do everything. I can see me getting on the plane with no luggage because I won't have had time to pack!

And I start my new job there on 3 January!

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

I just passed the second stage of screening for a big company. The opportunity to work there is absolutely amazing and the money is really good! I gave it 150% at the assessment and my interview I'm so glad I got it. But it does mean that I'll have to leave where I am, which isn't entirely a loss.. customer service isn't for me. Although I tough it out because it's a job and I'm grateful for it. $9 pay raise though will not go a miss!

Congrats JFH!!! I hope you can make it over in time for Christmas!!!

Hurray Ceisen! I hope your POE goes smooth!

So glad to hear you started working AMJZ! I hope you enjoy it!

I bet you will land the job with flying colors Andy!!! Let us know!

Just waiting for my trip to see Jon and to be there for his interview on January 6th. Jon has his medical next Tuesday O.O

Thank you, customer service is really something but it's a job and for that I'm grateful!

Interview for Walgreens went well, got the job pending a pee test and a background check :D

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

SSN is easy, go to the happy SS office, take a copy of his I94, passport & fill in the form - in theory a nice, helpful person who knows their job will behind the glass and the process will are about 10 mins :)
