Yeah Knightsbridge is not known for its knowledge on how the vaccine requirements work with the K-1. At least they offered you the vaccines I suppose. I had to stand there and demand they take my husband back and finish the few he was missing and they tried really hard to talk me out of it.

Ours was also not marked "complete" in the end though, so likely a Civil Surgeon visit for us as well.

$90? Is that just to fill out the vaccine form? I found one in the middle of nowhere in Wisconsin for $35. Not sure what your transportation situation is like but I would shop around if that's a possibility for you!

yeah i got options LOL

thanks for the head's up on shopping around. I will definitely do that. I thought it would be a flat rate that everyone charged.

I found this thread interesting/helpful. There are probably plenty of California offices if you feel up to digging through the pages!

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/page-16

If your up for a trip to Anaheim, this one seems particularly inexpensive

With any of these though, I would always call to verify if they still offer the service and if it's still the same price, as some of the posts are sorta old.

If your up for a trip to Anaheim, this one seems particularly inexpensive. If they are willing to do a full medical for $60, I imagine just filling out the vaccine sheet would be reasonable.

Thank you! I'll try that Anaheim office. So far lowest I've found is $90-100. Everywhere else is $325+.

$325? That's insane. Would possibly be cheaper to get a plane ticket to WI and get it done at the one we plan on for $35.

We had to drive nearly to DC to find a CS willing to do one. In the end we got it done for $35. CS can charge whatever they want though... some of those prices sound ridiculous! :ranting:

you would think that having a lot of options (read: competition) would cause these drs to lower their prices... i've called 6 within a 5 mile radius of each other and they're all that high!!

One condescended to explain "well, it's because we require special licensing" you're still just signing a stupid piece of paper!! SMH

I would assume part of your issue is also the general cost of living in CA is ridiculously high, but seeing that Yuna went to DC which is also ridiculously high, that just seems outrageous!!! I say take a small vacation elsewhere and get it done for cheaper like MorganandMichael said! Show him some more of the US!!! Maybe it will help lessen the sting of having to see another doctor so soon O.O

So what I've noticed though, is that it seems regardless what goes down at Knightsbridge, you're almost guaranteed to have to visit a US Civil Surgeon- I spoke with my coworker who went through this a couple years back, and they had to have a US Civil Surgeon transcribe the medical documents before submitting the I-693. And it sounds like Knightsbridge cocks up the paperwork even if you do pay the extra $$$ to have the vaccines done with them. Sooo, i'm less salty now.

I'm taking him to Disneyland for my birthday, so we'll either get it done then at the $70 clinic or just take care of it at the $90 one that's basically across the street from my house.

Man this guy is lucky i like him so much... ;)

It's 50/50 probably. It will all depend on how much your caseworker knows about K1s and understanding the meaning of the DS3025 (provided Knightsbridge has done it correctly), if they get the medical file found and matched up, or if they lose it entirely. Our CS said she sees it happening constantly no matter where the immigrant is from. Knightsbridge seems to have a reputation of being a screw-up lately. Another reason why we picked near DC was the CS's reputation which was excellent and she knew just what to do, and the fact that our local CS actually had been arrested on drug charges and still continues to operate. Kind of crazy.
