Approved!!!

Congrats!

Hi guys, just a quick update. This morning we received the email confirmation and tracking number that says our visa will be ready to collect tomorrow!! Real excited now as my fiancée comes out on Thursday :) :) :)

Me too!

It is already at the depot now actually and could be collected today. Several have verified this.

I phoned as soon as I got the email and they said it wasn't there yet as they literally just picked it up and to come tomorrow :( perhaps this isn't always the case.

Actually tetanus is not on the list for US immigrant immunizations found here http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/panel/vaccination-panel-technical-instructions.html#tbl1so you may be getting a Td if you have a record of having pertussis in the past.

yeah theyre bust atm but ill keep trying it was more a question of will i pay the cost of the cocktail if i only need the one component of it, i remember you saying you need a tetanus booster if my last one was more than ten years ago. mine was also ive noticed i have no previous vaccination for pertussis alone, although reading around thats the DTP(triple)+Polio might be.

Yes in the UK, I think the cocktail given to most kids is generally 4 in one shot...diptheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio. Sounds like you had that.

I suppose it depends on what they stock at Knightsbridge to give you. I know here in the US, I cut my finger severely enough to require surgery to repair a tendon. At the emergency room they asked when my last tetanus shot was and determined I needed one. But the shot on my bill said Td. So maybe that is the standard thing now. I don't know the answer, but you'll find out in two days. :) T? Td?

Whatever it is, just pay for it. Don't let the nurse tell you you can get it later. Demand it. Then you won't have to pay a civil surgeon in the US to do a new immunization form for your AOS. Tell the nurse "I want my shot record completed right here, right now."

You didn't mention the flu shot. Did you get one this year? You need that too. If Boots or Tesco type places give them cheaper, then get one there BEFORE your medical and take proof. £22 at Knightsbridge.

yeah i rang up and they said no idea basically it depends on too many factors and they wouldnt like to advice, but i was planning on demanding it anyway.

and yes i got my fly shot. im pretty sure one of you're guide said i needed it. managed to get my gp nurse to do it so it was free, every vax ive had is listed, and just incase i asked for it with letter headed paper, with a stamp, and a singature :P

Hi everyone, just got back from a weekend in New York with Kas. He returned to London last night and received packet 3 this morning. Our status update date was also changed to today-so I am assuming his DS-160 and Visa Payment have been accepted. He has his Medical exam on Thursday.

Hope you guys had an awesome time!

It was so nice, bar me loosing my wallet (all ID and credit cards-gone!--flying home last night was interesting), however, we did have a lovely time. Saying goodbye was so difficult. We only have one more 'see you later' to go until the big move, though--so I guess I can't be too upset or glum about it.

Owww how unfortunate, it is literally the worst thing to lose (apart from your mind, perhaps ;) ) *hugs* to you, I can relate to painful goodbyes, it is never easy. Like you say, only one more to go before the big move! Exciting times ahead!

You aren't officially asked to pay until you receive your interview date.

This. ^

The nurse told Gary that if she gave it to him now it wouldn't be valid for the time his AOS is processed. I was at the appointment, but not with him in the room. We now have to pay hundreds for a civil surgeon to do it, even though Walgreens or the pharmacy at Walmart can give him the shots. It sucks. :P

With all this talk of the tetanus shot, I'm getting confused about which shot Daniel will need. Will they accept any version (td, Tdap, etc...) so long as he has record of having pertussis done or should he just wait until the medical to see which one they want him to have and make them do it then? I was going to have him get the immunizations done while we wait for NOA2.
