We didn't need an SSN for me when we got married (Washington state). Although we did have to have counselling beforehand. A few weeks later they scrapped that requirement. Typical!

I fly out to Phoenix this afternoon, having to check in at the airport due to having a visa and wasn't allowed to check in online, I might be off here for a little while but I'll be back soon with a POE review.

I'll no doubt be back for AOS too, good luck to those still carrying on with their journeys!!

At the airport waiting for my flight got a free upgrade which is nice as I've only ever flown economy (I've been upgraded to premium economy) might not be very exciting but means more leg room! I'm getting excited now

Yay I'm so happy for you! I feel like I got grilled by the immigration officer at Phoenix, she wasn't too bad though just quite serious and wore bright green latex gloves!! She looked at all the paperwork from the big white envelope and I got to look too as she as me questions about it and looked at the photos we sent in the original I129F, she stamped my passport with the date we have to get married by (end of the 90 days) and told me I can apply for my SSN next week or when I'm ready.

I didn't get a "Welcome to America" or anything but I made it I'll do a full write up soon.

Had my visa approved today! I got there early but they let me in anyway, so I was out less than an hour after my scheduled appointment time!

As a new group is starting to head this way...I thought I would share a great AOS checklist that Nich-Nick posted a while back. I took a quick glance to make sure it is still up to date but like with anything always consult the form instructions for any changes.

This checklist was a great guide and we made it thru with no RFEs.

Thank you! AOS is a little ways off for us yet (around 2 or 3 months time) but I shall save that in my book mark folder for when we get to it

Oh also, I ordered some more passport photos today. It seems my US passport photos will be almost out of date by the time I get there so I'd rather have newer ones.

So I found out the company my father worked for just closed it's doors yesterday so now he is effectively unemployed.

Obviously this is having a pretty big impact on my family, and one of the impacts is that without a job, he can no longer be a joint sponsor for my Fiance when we do AOS.

From what I remember though, as long as he is able to find employment again that is above the threshold, we should still be okay? There isn't a required amount of time for him to have held the job?

Sorry I feel like this is a question that was so obvious to me, but right now I am still sorta in shock and my brain isn't functioning fully, so I thought I would ask and try to calm my nerves..

Ditto this. I used that list to assemble my AOS package/cover letter.

My green card has been approved, took just over 1 year from applying for AOS but we made it!
