Ah here we go, does this help? Haven't really looked at that stage yet

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/532915-k1-visa-fee-issue/

The payment link in the guide takes you straight to the UK immigrant visa page. See the gb and iv in the link?

If you wander off course and try non-immigrant visa, you may get stuck in internet hell trying to get out and try over.

Yes, you are a non-immigrant visa, but because the K1 gets processed by the immigrant visa unit, you always pick IV instead of NIV, which is for those getting student, tourist, etc visas.

Cheers guys

Pheebs - How long is it from LAX/Seattle to Oregon? Long distance flights are tough, the flight to Tokyo was 14 hours...I actually started a little system while on long distance flights that's helped me! I will watch a film, get up and walk around a bit, read, eventually my eyes will get tired so I'll pop my headphones in and try to sleep. When I eventually fail at sleeping (but probably spend 30 minutes or so in that frustrating half asleep phase) I repeat the process.

Oh not too bad, an hour I think.

I have discovered, on these many flights, that five films in a row is my absolute limit ;)

Haha, I tend to get through 3, then usually if I start a 4th I never get to finish so I watch some TV shows instead. I always opt for animation or comedy, there's something wrong about watching a big blockbuster on a teeny tiny screen!

One of these days I'll find myself sat next to a fellow VJ-er and we'll have so much to talk about the time will (literally- ha!) fly by!

The last thing I want to do is talk to someone on a flight. I'm a noise cancelling headphones the entire flight kinda person. One time I forget them at home and almost cried for real.

I have a whole system worked out to try to get an empty seat or 2 if possible next to me. I'm kinda ruthless. Sometimes people try to move into MY empty seat (yes I claim ownership by putting all my ####### all over the seats next to me). It doesn't happen often since the flights are almost always full now a days but once upon a time it worked often enough to make it worth it. Make myself as unapproachable as possible, headphones in, staring at my phone so no one will bother me unless they're assigned to one of the seats my stuff is in

Having a row of 3 to yourself is the next best thing to a business class ticket. It's the only way I've ever gotten more than 30 mins of sleep at a time on a flight.

Hi there, I saw this thread pop up.

We are currently in the post-NOA2 --> NVC portion of our journey. I got trigger happy and gave the NVC a call today to see if they received my case. After 35 minutes of listening to that "lovely" music, I finally landed on a nice gentlemen who told me that it was probably too soon to call and that I should call back later. I so wish CSC would update our status when the case is actually shipped.

However, my fault probably since it hasn't even been a full 2 weeks yet (not to mention the snow storm from earlier this week). He said to call back in mid-February. I'll probably call again though at the middle of next week.

As for flights from PDX-->LHR, I typically have found myself watching about 3 movies and trying to sleep. Usually on the way to London, sleeping isn't that difficult as it's typically a night flight...

Coming back, however, is difficult as it's day time when you leave.

Last time I flew (with Dan) the flight was so empty she booked us the whole middle row (four seats!) to ourselves which was bliss! I always try and get a seat on either end of the middle bit so that if people need to get up, they have an alternative route if I'm sleeping ;)

I hate that CSC didn't update when it had been sent to NVC! Apparently this is something only TSC bothers to do. I'd keep calling once a week if you can bear to listen to the music again  was about three weeks for us :)

I agree sleeping TO London is easier than from! I once got up at 3am for a 6am flight from Bristol --> Amsterdam --> Portland --> Eugene and I was so exhausted when I got there I actually threw up! I HATE being tired!

Dear god! That flight pattern sounds even worse than Kas' LHR-AMS-PDX flight! He's usually so knackered by the time he arrives, however, he's learned quickly to force himself to stay awake until at least 2100 to nip the jetlag.

By this coming Tuesday, it will be 2 weeks. So, I definitely had wishful thinking. The music is aggravating to say the least, however, I suppose it's worth it when you actually get the great news.

Well that sums up this whole process! Aggravating but worth it in the end... :ranting::help::rofl:

Having a row of 3 to yourself is the next best thing to a business class ticket. It's the only way I've ever gotten more than 30 mins of sleep at a time on a flight.

This made me laugh because we were telling our friends a story last night at Starbucks about a flight my husband took.

My husband was flying from Heathrow. There was a bulkhead/exit row seat with the extra legroom unoccupied. He asked the flight attendant if he could move to that seat.

He moved to the middle of three seats....window and aisle occupied.

Window lady got irate. "You can't sit there. It's not your seat."

"Did you purchase your seat and this empty seat?"

"No"

"Then I can sit in it."

She was so mad, she gathered her things and moved back in the plane to another seat.

He eventually moved to the window seat.

She got up and came back to him and said "you can't sit there because that is my seat."

"I'm sorry. Do you want to sit here? I will move back to the middle seat."

She stormed off again.

Methinks it might have been April. :P

I snagged a row of five seats once. I got extra pillows and stretched out prone and slept from after dinner service until they started serving breakfast. Flights do seem to be filled up all of the time now. I always sleep on transatlantic flights. I would go seriously mad just sitting there. Going to England, as soon as things settle down after food service, I make myself sleep. Don't even start a movie.

Quick update on our case. My fiancé had his medical on the 19th of January. We haven't received his interview letter yet. I just got off the phone with NVC. I was on hold for 2 minutes before I spoke with a really nice lady which told me his interview letter was mailed out on the 27th and his interview date is Feb 20th at 9:30. Fingers crossed everything goes well as he has to be here soon since our baby is due March 21st. I was shocked at how quickly I got through to them. Everytime I've called in the morning or at night I always get the message to call back. So happy that we know his interview has now been scheduled. Now we can look for a flight and hotel for him since he'll be flying in from Scotland to London.
