My visa arrived and I've booked my flight - 22nd April via Reykjavik. POE will be in my new hometown, Chicago. Exciting and terrifying!

Looks like your flight plan is similar my fiance's. He is flying from Manchester to Reykjavik and then Reykjavik to Chicago. It will be a few months later, however. Let me know how it all goes!

... Well, I'm still waiting on NVC haha. I'm the 7th, and they've not received as yet.

Though, they have received accepted petitions from the 4th yesterday... So optimistically, it shouldn't be too much longer.

Still, that's pretty much 4 weeks to get it to NVC and issue a number.

Yay!! Congratulations!! I was trying to have a sneak peak at your timeline but couldn't seem to find it?

Thank you! I'm going to make a shameful confession here - I didn't make an account here (or at least didn't start using it) until around the time that I booked my medical, I think. I have no memory of the exact dates that we sent in our first application, got NOAs, etc etc - so I've always been embarrased to go back and sort out my timeline properly. Maybe I'll try to, since I've found spying on other peoples' very useful!

Looks like your flight plan is similar my fiance's. He is flying from Manchester to Reykjavik and then Reykjavik to Chicago. It will be a few months later, however. Let me know how it all goes!

I will! Are you guys going to be based in Chicago? If so let me know and we can compare notes over a pint!

Good luck Tricked, I hope it all gets sorted soon! Also I just noticed that you're a fellow Scot, so hello :D

**Super off-topic, but hopefully important post. Keep in mind I am not trying to start a political discussion, just let you guys know about an opportunity**

Hey everyone! Sorry have been keeping away from the forums lately, but I do have an interesting proposition for anyone interested.

Tomorrow, Wednesday the 29th, Presidential Candidate Donald Trump will be visiting my undergrad alma matter and I was invited back and nominated for the opportunity to take part in a Q & A with him.

While I definitely had my reservations about the situation, I realize my old professors hand-picked me for a reason and don't want to pass up the opportunity to ask the sort of questions that need to be asked.

SO! As individuals who clearly have a stake in US immigration policy, as well as some new and prospect Americans, I wanted to open up a channel for anyone here who has any questions/concerns/etc that would like such to be voiced by me tomorrow.

Feel free to let message me about it if you are interested, as I don't want to distract too much from this thread. Either way, it's good to be back! I missed you guys.

Great to see you around here again. I'm very interested in this and will send a PM later when I finish work.

The slowness of the whole process defies all comprehension.

It's going to take Nebraska service centre the best part of 6 months to look at my marriage certificate, a bunch of photos and a few other one-page documents (all in English).

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

I will! Are you guys going to be based in Chicago? If so let me know and we can compare notes over a pint!

Unfortunately I live a few hours to the north in Wisconsin, but since it is his POE as well as where all of his family members will be flying in for the wedding. it will be a well-traveled destination for us this summer! We actually plan on spending a few days in the are since there is a music concert he is interest in going on a few days after he arrives. I would love to meet up if you aren't busy around that time!

Omg everyone!!!! I've been in states 2 months, I'm married, life is good. I hope everyone is doing well here I haven't logged on since leaving the uk. Hope to see some familiar faces :)

So far I've got my SSN in my new name, we are looking to start the AOS process now. We are moving into our new home next week, my name is on utilities and bank. So I think I have some good back up evidence.

My main question .. Do the powers that be accept certified copies of marriage certs? Or official copies? Right now we just have the signed license.

Hope everyone is doing good in here!!

I am the beneficiary originally from UK !!

Hiya, I have a little question, so me and my fiancé talk via Google hangouts, we are pretty sure we have enough evidence in our book that we talk all the time and that our relationship is real etc. We are waiting now for our noa2 however trying to foresee any possible rfe's, we use google hangouts to chat but we haven't found a way to get access to all our voice chat records, we talk for a good few hours every day- I'm sure you all know the routine, first thing in the morning chat, chat around 7pm then chat before he goes to work and I go to sleep! So their would be a lot of evidence for sure! so I was wondering if anyone else uses hangouts and how you access your call records?

It is different to google calls or chats, I know you can gain access to those records but this is hangouts via Google!

Thanks :)

? thank you, I found this also and sent it to my fiance and he said this was down thing different, we just cannot seem to find these records, we are hoping we won't need this tho! How does everyone else chat? Skype or whatsapp? Are we missing a trick? If anyone did need a quick and really good method id recommend Google hangouts- I just need to find a way to get hold of call records but it is super good! almost no delay!

I wouldn't worry--ultimately the entire application will be looked at as a whole and not as it's separate parts. They won't just see that you chat on google hangouts--they'll see everything else you added to show that you have a continuing relationship. So even if you don't have detailed records of the conversations, if there's 'something' that proves you've been in contact plus everything else you've added, you should be fine. That's what a lot of people forget I think when they're doing the application and afterwards you just have to keep reminding yourself to stop questioning everything you did. I did a lot of this before we received our NOA2 and a lot of what I thought might have been an issue turned out not to be. Key is just front loading the application as much as possible and making sure you present the application in a way that shows what your relationship is all about and for each and every one of us, how we prove it will be totally different from someone else's. Try not to drive yourself crazy and you'll be fine in the end! :)

My fiance and I chatted through skype, facetime, text messages, AIM, email, and MSN Messenger back in the day. Ultimately I added only 'some' text messages, a few choice emails, and some print screens of skype logs that showed the length of conversation--one for each month of our 3 and a half year relationship and even now I think that was a bit extreme. I ignored the rest because I felt it was overkill and the amount of trips we had was enough to show our sincerity and our determination along with ticket stubs and everything else. I also inserted a page before the evidence which explained why I inserted that particular evidence and I stated that this was only a selection of the contents in a larger scale. I think ultimately, using a program that I downloaded to capture iPhone messages, we had over 100,000 messages in the all the time I've used an iPhone starting with #4. Looking back, there's no way to really tell if I had too much or too little as it all depends on the couple and the USCIS officer reviewing the case.

Thank you for your message vpalermo85! This makes me feel better! You are right as well, we are always thinking about anything we could have filled out wrong and what we could get an rfe for! I know theirs no point, it's sent off and whatever happens happens but it doesn't stop us over thinking ?

Before we out our official NOA2, I noticed that no wet signature by the beneficiary could have been reason to get an RFE, mine was wet. And I also noticed that I made a few small potential errors on my G-325A as I didn't include full addresses for past employment, but neither of these sparked an RFE which I was grateful for. I tried calling USCIS to see if I can forward corrected documents (because it couldn't hurt to try) and of course they said you just have to wait. I was CERTAIN we'd get an RFE. Just before we got the NOA2 I was freaking out because we hadn't heard anything and people around our date was getting approved--it was really frustrating and almost heart breaking at the time because we knew our case was genuine and there weren't any read flags. Luckily for us, the NOA2 came in the mail and the website hadn't been updated! I was a bit pissed and happy at the same time because I didn't believe it was real for a while until I confirmed with the NVC that they received our file and now we have our interview next week! So just remember, you can't do anything until you get some kind of notice from the USCIS, so try and distract yourself as much as possible.

...Of course we all know that's literally impossible as we all were freaking out I'm sure lol

Haha love this message! Again has made me feel better! Sending a copy of this to my sleeping fiancé! He wakes up to about a million messages from me! :D I work in television and do 12 hour shifts in a dark gallery.. Needless to say I get a fair bit of thinking done! I am learning sign language at the moment so I try to focus on this!
