Good news! We got a text this morning that the new card is being produced. Another step in this journey complete.

Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Happy for you guys! :)

Since we received his EAD a few weeks ago, we set out to the DMV in hopes to get his license. Oh boy have things changed. They won't let immigrants exchange a license unless they sit through a 3 hour course about drugs and alcohol which is given by private companies. There is only one company in this county that gives it and it costs a lot of money. He was pretty furious. They won't even let him take the written test until that's done to get things moving along (because road test is appointment only and it's backed up). He's finding it all bewildering I think. He already *knows* how to drive here and has been doing so on visits for years now.

Also... I'm really tired of people thinking the ''UK'' stands for Ukraine.

What's the longest anyone has had to wait for embassy to receive case? Ours left NVC Friday 12th and no update as yet :( I guess the national holiday last Monday may not have helped. I spoke with NVC on Friday just to ask and well they weren't exactly helpful must have gotten someone who was having a bad day.

Any ideas?

Hope everyone has a great week!

We got our NOA-2 on the 27th of October and the embassy had our case number on the 11th of November. They received it a few days earlier (9th), but it takes a few days to process everything before you get your actual LND number.

I think they suggest it takes around 2 weeks, so we were right in that time frame. I definitely would not be worried as it has only been 10 days. If you don't hear anything by Friday I would try calling the NVC again.

I've got my case number (thankfully) it's just the embassy actually receiving the file from NVC - will keep fingers crossed for this week in that case - thank you for your reply :) xx

Oh whoops. Yeah that's my bad. Got the USCIS ---> NVC mixed up with NVC ---> embassy, clearly. Probably shouldn't be replying to anything in here at 3am, huh?

Anyway yeah, for NVC to consulate it apparently took us about 5 days. I just estimated those dates based on the when my fiance got his letter though, so it's probably not super accurate. Also, ours left on a Monday and was not around a holiday so the high number of consecutive business days could account for a difference.

I realize this isn't helpful at all now that I think about. Really sorry! I have no experience calling the actually embassy, so I'm not sure if they would be able to tell you more..

Ah don't worry any reply is appreciated - I called NVC on Friday and they weren't exactly helpful - today would be the 5th working day discounting the national holiday - it's probably me just being overly anxious. Go back to sleep if its 3am

Just checking CEAC constantly to see if it's updated since the interview on Friday, can't wait for it to say Issued. It's updated on Friday and Today, but still is on Ready, does it go to AP before Issued? Any idea how long it takes for it to go to issued?

Thanks Andy, you've been really helpful throughout this whole process, hopefully mine will mirror that then!

Michael's interview is tomorrow. He got into London tonight and is resting up. Weird how when we first met he was someone who got nervous going into a store by himself, and now he has taken the trip to a city he isn't really a fan of on his own and seemed fine. If anything I am the one who is a nervous wreck.

Just want to fast forward to the morning!

Called the NVC today. Interview is scheduled for March 14th! A tad bit concerned as the lady told me they sent out the packet on the 9th of February and my fiancé hasn't received it yet. The woman told me if we don't get it soon we need to contact the embassy and have them send another.

I was curious if anyone has had to do this?

That's really exciting! I remember that your fiancé had the same date as me so I might give them a call too.

Does this mean you need to take the invitation letter to the embassy with you?

Good luck!! I'm sure it'll all go off without a hitch, but it must be strange experiencing it all from so far away!
