I'm not sure whether to worry - my medical was on 02/02/16 and I submitted my Notification of Readiness on 09/02/16, but on the CEAC visa tracker my file was last changed on 05/02/16. Have I done something wrong? Could I have missed anything? Other than the webpage telling me my NOR had gone through I never got any kind of receipt or confirmation that it had been accepted... Or am I just panicking needlessly?

Have you completed your DS160?

Good luck :D

We'll be waiting for your celebration post!

CEAC updated a few days after my medical then didn't change again until after my interview :)

The letter with my appointment arrived 12th Jan ( medical was 17th Dec)

Thank you trudi!!

Just another quick clarification ((sorry!!!)) - when the NOR of submitted, there wasn't like a print out screen or anything was there? My fiance said it looked a bit odd - it said it was submitted but then had a list of bullet points saying if any of these things happen blah blah blah but then almost looked like it was cut off?

We are just paranoid something glitched and it didn't actually go through!

The only things you need to print are the DS160 & payment/courier confirmation - you need both of these at the interview :)

if I remember correctly the notification of readiness was a tad anticlimactic

If you are really concerned you can always call NVC and ask them if London have everything needed to schedule the interview ( I did cos I'm a worrywort too..), the lovely lady I spoke to assured me they had everything and I had my interview date the next day :)

All these replies are really reassuring.

Nauchelle- I had the exact experience with the NOR page, it looked incomplete! I'm glad it's not just me - probably just poor website design in that case.

I've told myself I'll wait another week before I break down and call them... Let's see if I'm able to stick to that...

Bit of a random question are you allowed to take part in voluntary work when on a K1?

I'm looking to leave on the 5/3 with a wedding on the 21/5, would like to do something to keep my head from exploding and the thought of the AOS taking another 2/3 months to go through makes me want to do it even more.

When we first investigated the K-1 route, we were advised that volunteering was fine provided it was not something that someone would normally be paid to do. So, you couldn't volunteer in an office where people doing the same work are being paid but you can, for example, help out at a homeless shelter or an animal rescue where people regularly volunteer and there is no paid position doing the same work.

Thanks that's good news to know, there is an animal shelter we go our dog from I would like to go and help out and it'll save my sanity :)

Animal shelter is exactly where I'm hoping to volunteer - I've been banned from bringing more dogs home...

I think it's a great idea. You can get out of the house, meet people, make friends and give something back to the community.

I've seen threads where K-1 visa folk have been feeling very isolated and bored until they get their work permit.

Exactly I've been working since I've left school and I'll lose my mind if I'm not out doing something.

I'm hoping to do the same. Made enquiries already about getting involved with coaching kids football voluntarily.

Also had some news that there's a new NPSL team joining the league this season about 10 mins from where I'll be living!! Already joined up to their supporters group, 50k seater stadium, $50 season ticket...... that's my football fix sorted!!

Have a good last day at work, 3 weeks today for me ?
