Haha, cute! My fiance isn't too invested in the process, not because he doesn't care, but because I've literally done all the research so he's in the mindset of "you know what you're doing". He listens very patiently when I've ranted about it all though ;).

Yeah the same here my fiance knows I have it all covered :)

Haha, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I see Americans on here all invested and shiz, while I'm here doing all the bladdy work on my lonesome  If I called him after the interview he'd be genuinely miffed that I woke him up to tell him I've been approved!! I can hear him now say "so? I knew you were going to be"

I am not doing all the work on my own, but I am the one who did all the research and checked everything, all he did was get his required documents( for the Interview part I am talking about) My fiance got the day off when I will have my interview as he wants to know how it all went and he will be excited to call me after I am done.

Ahahaha they're so alike!! I'll only be able to tell Justin because he's on a night shift so he'll be awake, otherwise it would have waited till morning for him to know!

Haha, lucky! I'll just have to sit twiddling my thumbs to wait to tell him

Thursday as in a week from tomorrow haha :)

Mine is the EXACT same lol....

Oooh I see! That makes more sense, I was like "umm..shouldn't you be packing, Pheebs?"

My English husband is an American citizen now and I swear has no clue how any of it happened.

Ahahaha. Oh man, please can you take a picture of him holding up his US passport with a face that says "what the eff is this all about?"

Haha!! I'm so glad I'm the beneficiary else we wouldn't be anywhere!

RIGHT?! I've said that to my fiance and he practically agreed!! >_<

I am not doing all the work on my own, but I am the one who did all the research and checked everything, all he did was get his required documents( for the Interview part I am talking about) My fiance got the day off when I will have my interview as he wants to know how it all went and he will be excited to call me after I am done.

I've literally done EVERYTHING other than sign the documents! If I left him to it then he'd take his sweet time, whereas I'm more of a as soon as I've thought of it, I want it done type. I'm sure he would be more on board if I didn't plough ahead with everything myself, but i prefer being in charge ;).

That's sweet of him :)

I've literally done EVERYTHING other than sign the documents! If I left him to it then he'd take his sweet time,

This reminds me of something a lady I knew named Lois said to me once. She had been married more than 35 years and did all the family paperwork. She said, "I've been signing Roy's name to everything for so many years that if he actually DID sign something, they would think it was fake."

There ya go. An idea to start off your marriage.....

That would be most helpful. Did you ever receive anything from the NVC?

I am only asking because we haven't gotten anything yet-and I just want to make sure he has something, anything to provide at his medical. We got trigger happy and he booked his medical as soon as we got our case number. Someone said he just printed out his CEAC website status update-and they accepted that. However, by the time his medical hits, our case will have been 'ready' for 2 weeks.

Our case was listed as ready on 01/26/2015 and Josh received the letter on January 30th.

Is there any kind of issue of booking a round trip flight? Round trip flights seem to be significantly cheaper. Now that we're approved we've started looking into flights to book once we receive his passport back.

I got a quote from STA travel for a one way ticket which was only £450, apparently these cheaper fairs are available to those who are under 26, so not sure if this applies to you but I strongly recommend contacting them using the form on their website, as they were extremely helpful.

However, having a return ticket is not an issue as long as you remember to cancel the return portion once the beneficiary has arrived. It has been recounted on VJ in the past that the seat has been given to someone else when the original person has not arrived for the flight, but the name hasn't been changed, so it then appears to USCIS that the beneficiary has left the country and abandoned their green card petition when in fact they have not.

Hope this helps!

P.S I am happy to PM you the email address of the STA representative that quoted my flights, she was great! Just let me know.

Hi everyone! How awesome is this thread - some of my favorite VJers all in one place :)

Simon and I got engaged in November and filed our paperwork the beginning of December while he was visiting me in San Francisco. We have been dating for 3.5 years and I am SO ready for the distance to no longer be an issue!

We have our NOA2 and Simon just had his medical about a week and a half ago. Unfortunately we hit a snag and he needs to do a follow up on his immunizations on March 7 so we can't do anything until then. I just got back from Leeds on Monday and seeing him was sooooo wonderful and helped a LOT but it was the hardest goodbye yet!

We are trying have a May 2 wedding but not having anyone plan travel until we have his interview date. I am getting so nervous we might miss it but my fingers and toes are crossed. We have the venue and ALL of the details worked out and on hold - all we need is him in the US now :) I have my whole wedding outfit already too!

Anyway, I am looking forward to 3/7 and praying everything goes smoothly.

Good luck to everybody and keep me posted on how everything is going.

Can you explain that part? I can't figure out a snag with immunizations for a K1 that would keep you from interviewing. Edited by Nich-Nick
