By the way, are you the person on our local Gumtree advertising a table that must go soon due to emigrating? My mother was looking at it and likes it!

I'm going to have a little grumble (not a big one, just a little). So I wrote down exactly what I wanted in my GP letter. Bearing in mind I am paying for this service.. the doctor wrote a letter that was hardly plausible, I can't use it. They wanted me to pay for that letter. I told them that I was really sorry and I couldn't pay for it as this wasn't what I asked for. I have written again "VERY CLEARLY" what I want to be included in the letter. I don't care if I have to pay more for it, it's very specific and is Knightsbridges template. I really don't understand why it was so hard to do what I asked the first time around?! I am getting royaly narked (is the politest way I can put it) at my doctors surgury and when I have what I need I am considering complaining higher up. They are understaffed, I really do understand that. But at the same time, if someone is paying for a service either do it right, or wait until you can. This has caused me a ton of un-needed, un-wanted, stress to an already lengthy process.

Rant over, I am now calm. I will get my letter eventually. :bonk:

Oh wow that sounds really frustrating! I had a similar letter-writing issue with my employer and bank for I-134 proof. Told them exactly what I needed in the letter and took them 2-3 times each to get it right aha.

Also my fiance had some problems with his GP too! He paid to get his flu shot at Boots since when we do AOS it may cross over into flu season. He then called the GP and asked what he needed to do to get it put on his medical records and they said to just bring in the sales receipt and they could do that. So he brought them in and while he was there he scheduled a physical through his GP since it would be free and we didn't want any surprises at Knightsbridge. So he got an appointment for 8am on a weekday and took off of school to go down there and when we (I was in the area visiting around this time) got there they told us the person we scheduled the appointment with doesn't do those kind of "check-ups" and they couldn't help us. Now me being the "pushy aggressive American" I am got sort of annoyed since THEY were the ones who scheduled the appointment for him after he asked and THEY were the ones who selected that specific doctor. I told her how he was missing school and we paid to get a bus ride into the city for this appointment and how we wouldn't have enough time to schedule another one before Knightsbridge but apparently that wasn't her problem. >_> And then on top of that when we got to Knightbridge and handed over his vaccine records they told us the flu shot wasn't listed the correct way and he had to get a new one and pay for it again. So yeah I was a little irritated. At least it wasn't anything serious that actually caused a delay in our visa application, just some inconveniences due to slight incompetence.

AMZJ, this may not be helpful, but is there a possibility that you could just write the letter for them and hand it over for them to sign and add their letterhead to? I mean you need to be careful that what you write is accurate but they don't seem to doing a great job of doing it themselves!

They won't let me do that. But I re wrote very very clearly what it was I wanted and my doctor should be doing it this week hopefully. I am so frustrated with my doctors surgery and I still have to get our medical records from there which is a huge pain, since half of my medical records are missing (anything before 2001). So does that mean I get to pay half the fee since so much is missing? lol. Probably not.

I suppose on the positive side of things that I am getting all this done before the NOA2 stage so I won't get worried about it messing up my medical and causing delays. It's keeping me busy.

It's probably a coincidence but I caved to my stress on the 8th and contacted the embassy via the contact form begging to know when it would be updated to issued and it changed half an hour later - karma was the courier losing it Thursday so I didn't actually get my hands on the package until 6pm Friday

Good luck with your boss :)

That's work sorted, i'm out of here Friday :)

Ooh exciting times!

I can't wait to hand my notice in for work they are not being supportive at all, they now have me down to work on my day off which is the day of my medical, I'm now being told that the rotas have changed to suit someone else wanting Full time hours so my shifts have been changed and they now want me to put in A/L or TOIL on the day of my medical :/ the whole reason I picked that day was so that I could do my medical without anyone knowing but now my manager has told everyone :/ I'm looking at possibly changing my medical date to a day I know I'm off.

I've been to my doctors today and had my MMR and Flu jabs I have to wait a few days before I can call them and get an updated version of my medical records.

It's a good feeling isn't it? You decided when you're flying?

I have spent the day letting my doctor, hospital, dentist, pensions etc know I'm moving Sunday, I have my USD and have arranged for the rest of my funds to follow - nearly time to face the conundrum that is getting my stuff in just the 2 cases

Ooh exciting times!

That sucks if you made an appointment to fit with your rota and they change the rota, any half decent employer would honour the day :(
