I am curious about something, I have noticed some people on here are getting their NOA2 petition approved after less than 2 months and I am confused how, does it depend on the time of year etc? We had our petition approved after less than 3 months but at the time there was a computer problem at the USCIS California Service Center. So I am thinking we probably would of been approved in 2 months as well, if the computer problem hadn't made a delay.

It could be a culmination of multiple factors, to be honest. I noticed that many CSC cases that I was following before we submitted our petition have approvals of around 18 days.

Wow just 18 days! I thought when I began that approval rates were between 3-5 months wait, I am surprised. I would be in America by now if getting a police clearance from Greece hadn't taken so long, but oh well what can I do about it now. On the positive side I have had more time with my family here in England.

It's mostly just the service center. CSC=FAST, TSC=DEATH TRAP

BTW, they don't process in exact order. Batches and some non-sense.

2nd Edit: If I were a betting gal, and I'm not, I'd bet that your petition was shelved temporarily while CSC worked on the TSC transfers that they got in early August.

On the topic of nerves, I tend to get a bit finicky when doing new things. So having not been to the embassy before or where to go inside, stuff like that can make me feel nervous. It's all silly, since when I'm doing new things I just get on with it. But once I'm inside and I have my number I'm sure I'll relax! I'm on the same wavelength of Nich-Nick, our relationship is genuine so there's no need to worry about the interview. I'm a little nervous about my Japanese police certificate being opened, but I'm sure that'll be fine.

Pheebs - Wowsa, so you could be flying out tomorrow? Or did I read that wrong?

Did you call Dan right away? I want Kas to call me regardless of the time difference.

Question: So, we have already done most of packet 3 (the medical is still pending as it's next week), however, I noticed on CEAC that our case status updated today. Does anyone know what that might mean?

Maybe they received your readiness form if you sent it? Or did you just fill out DS-160?

That might be it, unless they are following standard protocol and it's just packet 3 that's been sent out? It hasn't updated at all since they received it last Thursday-this is the first time. So, it's probably the packet 3 letter.

We have everything all squared away and submitted, bar the medical results. Kas got a little excited the moment he saw our case status was ready.

Haha, cute! My fiance isn't too invested in the process, not because he doesn't care, but because I've literally done all the research so he's in the mindset of "you know what you're doing". He listens very patiently when I've ranted about it all though ;).
