Question about wedding date: what does that mean?? We are planning on getting the legal marriage as soon as he is here - so we can get the next parts started. I'm just curious if we could put a wedding date that is earlier than he will be getting to the states. I guess I'm asking if there are any negative implications that can come from putting a wedding date that ends up being before he arrives?

I don't think they care as long as you enter before the K-1 expires (6 months after the medical I believe) and with in the 90 day time frame.

No negative implications. I put a wedding date a month earlier than we were planning on, just to get them to push the interview date along. London has always asked that strictly to use as a scheduling tool. The readiness form is a London thing. Not all consulates use the same set up. They can't hold you to it if the visa timeline doesn't work out to get you there by that date.

Once you get the visa, your whole petition and visa run up is over. It's a brand new process starting AOS. They aren't going to be looking at your petition and visa files except to pull out your medical results. New beginnings, new name, repeat of some of the same documents you sent before...

I'm not actually getting married until May 1st. It's 9 days before the end of the 90 time limit ! I hope that's ok with visa Lords.

The visa lords are history now that it's issued. It's the AOS lords who will check that your marriage certificate is dated within the 90 days your I-94 allows you.

Interview letter has arrived, booked in for the 19th Feb, 8AM! Exciting times, need to start investigating trains and accommodation now though, anyone know of decent places to stay near the embassy?

I stayed at Belgrave House Hotel, £30 for the night, 4 mins walk from Victoria station, easy for the tube to the embassy & everywhere else if you're going sightseeing the night before your interview.

Just had a thought of this time in 2 weeks i'm going to be nervous as hell

Planning on leaving here on the 03/03 if everything goes through ok, I need to watch my football team once more on the 01/03 and it's our local rivals, been following them for nearly 30 years and a season ticket holder, the only real other thing i'll miss about being here apart from the family.

We are planning on the 21/05 to get married should be fairly warm by then and it's a week before half term for everyone coming over, flights will be a fair bit cheaper.

We got our NOA2 yesterday I've applied for my police certificate and today I'm contacting my doctors about vaccinations. My Fiancee is getting up to speed with her paperwork to send me as soon as she can.

Gosh you are a lot smarter than I am. We booked a banquet hall for late July not realizing that flights prices basically double after mid-June and then stay high until August. I feel terrible for my finance's family since they don't really have that much money... Hopefully it doesn't completely cripple them. When we saw the flight prices we tried to book a new date but everything else was already booked up..

Well, luckily I had no ties. I lodged with dad for the last 3 months, and my work have know since October 2015, I would be leaving so I only had to give them a 1 week notice.. !

I have £3000 saved.. but it's for UK debts that I can't run away from. I guess it's a bad idea to burn bridges...

I managed to get my Td done at boots today so I am relieved that is sorted. My passport photos wouldn't come out right on the machine so I am going to get them done at snappy snaps so I can start my police check.
