BWE big white envelope and passport are in a plastic courier wrapper which you can open to get out the passport.

Still waiting on the interview letter... Not sure at which point I should try calling the Visa Specialist Unit at the Department of State.

Here is the information on when stuff was submitted/when our case was updated.

January 7th: Completed DS-160

January 8th: Had medical

January 10th: Submitted Notification of Readiness.

January 19th: Case last updated.

I'm assuming that if our interview was scheduled on the 19th when it was last updated, then the letter should have been mailed out and reached my fiancé by now? I'm just super paranoid that for some reason he won’t get the letter and will miss the interview date.

According to the K1 London complete guide, the number to call is (202) 485-7600. Does anyone know the hours for this??

You will not find out anything by calling that. You can try to email the embassy, I had good success with this. The case may say updated off and on and that's not really the cue that the letter might be coming. Huh, bummer. That complete guide was so helpful up until now so I figured the number would work. It claims that sometimes people don't get letters at all, so that's my biggest fear. I will try emailing I suppose. I assume you can just find the contact info on the London Embassy website?

Mind telling me how long ago it was that you emailed the embassy...?

I never really found the whole "medical to interview" thing that helpful unfortunately because it all depends on when you submit the DS 160 and Notification of Readiness as well. For example, if someone has done the DS 160 and the N of R before their medical (so their medical is the last thing they do) their time from medical to interview is going to be much shorter than someone who does the medical first and then the other things a few days later, which was our case for the N of R.

Just noticed this. According to the US Embassy London website under the K-1 visa info it says "you will receive and appointment letter approximately 4 weeks before your scheduled interview date".

4 days before would probably be a close estimate it seems...

Back before they changed their website, you could contact the visa department. You'd use the contact form and they were pretty helpful. I still have the email address that they sent their response. But let's see what I can dig around and find hidden in the depths of the site:

If it has been more than 6 weeks since you submitted the forms and attended a medical examination with the panel physician, please contact us using the Visa Contact Form.

Thank you very much for finding this for me! Hopefully it goes somewhere. I know it says 6 weeks after submitting everything but it seems like literally everyone posting in this forum over the past few weeks got their letter well before the 6 week mark so I went ahead and sent an inquiry.
