Case arrived at London and READY today, Medical booked in for the 20th January, excited things are moving forward quickish!

Congratulations, it all goes pretty fast now :)

Random question, I recently changed Doctors in my area and with my new practice I can log online to make appointments etc. I can also see when I had my childhood vaccinations with the dates I had them.

Could I print this out and take it to the medical when I get to that stage or would I be best making an appointment with my GP and getting her to sign off my vaccination record? (I need to have another tetanus jab at some point)

Thanks :)

I would guess they need to be on headed paper or with a surgery stamp, I didn't need to see my GP, the receptionist just printed them off for me :)

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

The Nurse at my GP's just printed off the shots I had and Knightsbridge accepted it without any issues, wasn't signed but did say the name etc of the practice.

Thanks guys :) It looks like I need to go get boosters done :/ I had my Diphtheria, Tetanus & Pertussis shots in 3 parts when I was a baby but no boosters, I had my polio one done as a baby too again no boosters.

Same goes for my MMR jabs, I've had them but no boosters according to my vaccine record, I am going to speak to my mum and see what she says but would it be best if I get my GP to give me the shots rather than at the medical? Or could I get them all done at the medical once and for all?

I've head that these are the important ones for the medical and I did have chickenpox twice as a child so I know I don't need that one.

Thanks :)

You have to pay for them at Knightsbridge so if your doctors will do them for you it'll save you a lot of money.

Congratulations on filing. If you don't want a flu shot, go to the medical after March 31. Meanwhile start checking on what immunizations you have had with somebody who can look it up for you. Then make a plan to get any you need. Mostly check on dates you got immunized for MMR and Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis (and/or Tetanus/Diphtheria).

Thank you! I had my list printed out I've had my Dtap 5 times so they said I didn't need it again for life. I already had a flu vaccination as I have asthma so I get it yearly anyway so I'm not fussed if I do get the medical sooner. I'm getting a Hep B booster this month although I know I don't need it for the immigration process I am having it done anyway. The doctor took 3 months to get the vaccination list but it's printed and signed by my GP.

I'm looking at doing the police check at the beginning of February.

You have to pay for them at Knightsbridge so if your doctors will do them for you it'll save you a lot of money.

Exactly what my fiance is doing, she said Knightbridge wanted something like 79 pounds for a booster shot she was missing so she is going to her doctor to get it free before she comes over here so we will be ready for the AOS. Can't remember the name of the shot but the booster could be given after six weeks of the original shot.

Our case was updated this morning so I called the CEAC and they told me that the embassy has received her medical but no interview date yet. She had her medical done on Tuesday so just one more step to go!

So you're going to have to get that all recertified with an American civil surgeon then? Ideally the UK citizen should get the shots done at their GP before seeing Knightsbridge, not after. They can, but then they are going to have to get them recertified by a civil surgeon stateside and try to find one that won't charge a massive fee.

Yuna is absolutely correct - I didn't get mine done at knightsbridge because of the same reason, (at the time, I hadn't done any research into AOS and their requirements so I believed the nurse). After my medical, I did some googling/reading, and realised id made a MASSIVE mistake. Luckily, I knew my medical results hadn't been issued because it was over new year and Knightsbridge were closed, so I got my last jab done on 4th Jan, emailed it to Knightsbridge, and they sent me a revised DS-3025.

Be warned - getting it done right for AOS is states isn't going to be cheap, or easy. Possibly resulting in another medical - adding time and money to the entire process.

Curious about NVC Receiving!

We got our letter from the NVC saying they had received our packet on Dec. 18th... but we had no invoice number. We had our case number and everything.

I am using an attorney and she said we should be receiving an e-mail from the NVC.

Is this what happened for any of you?

Well I got the letter and it said to go to that gov website to "learn how to apply for a K1 visa"

We have our Case number.. the LND number.

It just said that they were forwarding out petition to the Embassy. I'm just confused at the moment I think... Especially about this e-mail thing my attorney is talking about.

Did you receive e-mails letting you know what you needed etc?

Do we just need to wait until our petition is at the Embassy and then it will become more clear?

I'm worried that we are missing a step - the payment to the NVC... I went online and tried to figure it out but it told me I needed to select an agent.
