All looks good.

In addition I was asked for the confirmation of the DS-160 printout at the first security check before going in (along with passport & appointment letter).

Just my (UK beneficiary) birth certificate.

You can get US passport photos at most supermarkets for £7.

I just took a letter from her employer as evidence for the I-134, stating how long employed, that she's full time and the amount earned.

Our petition had been extended but had expired again last week so I had new letters of intent. I asked if they needed them but they said no as the I-134 covered that from my fiancee and as I was there in person that covered me! If you need them take them though just in case!

Thanks for your help! Seems as though the documents for the interview are quite easy to obtain and simple. I panicked about the affidavit stuff but I needn't have!! Thank ref the DS-160 - I just put that in with my docs!!!

I have the whole batch copied for them, and a batch coped for my file.

Out of interest, how long did it take you to have visa in hand? I've allowed 16 days - on the basis that the average was 9 days which I calculated looking at the stats

I am the beneficiary originally from UK !!

In respect of the I-134 supporting docs I have a bank statement and a couple off payslips as well as the tax return will that be enough?

You have more than enough. The tax return by itself enough. Not sure why everybody thinks bank statements are essential unless they are sponsoring on assets because of no job. Sounds like your fiance has a job.

Not really. London is not that strict wanting to see five different things. I am assuming the tax return is 2014 but that is still most recent until April. The recent pay slips show current. Maybe get her to scan her W2 for 2015 when she gets it and email it to you. A W2 is a form employers send out in January giving a total of how much they paid you in the previous year and how much they held out toward your income tax. They are required to have W2s out to their employees by the end of January. The tax year ends Dec 31, so the employer is allowed a month to prepare them. Many are faster than that. That way you have a good total of her 2015 income as verified by the employer. The business name and her name will be on it. A simple proof for this time of year.

That's wonderful, thanks very much it's most appreciated.

Just asked for the W2 when possible.

I'll stop freaking out now :)

I have way more than is needed for the financial stuff, letter from employer, pay slips, tax returns for the last 3 years, bank statements and the I34 - we figured wei would rather have too much than find they want something we didn't do on the day (OCD kicking in again:))

The other thing i have is all the passport photos needed for AOS as they are cheaper here - £7 for 4 and they are $13 for 2 there - yup i need to chill and concentrate on clearing the house and stop obsessing that i've forgotten something thats going to cause a delay...

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

I have more than needed as well. But like you say, it's better to safe than sorry! And obviously, we don't understand their documents so I just made my fiancé get everything!!! It says on the website to bring any further documentation to support your case, so why the hell not bring everything!

Don't worry, I'm the same, I over obsess, my fiancé gets mad at me, because I stress him out with my stress! Whilst I love this site for support, at the same time, my addiction to it is hindering, because I read the bad stuff, then I panic about my case! But honestly, so far everything has run amazingly to plan.

I go to snappy snaps and it cost me £15 for US size passport photos.... :o thieves!

PS Trudi - AMAZING name - same name as my mum, and spelt the cool way ;)

I am the beneficiary originally from UK !!

Yeah I have a folder full of additional stuff to support the ongoing relationship plus a ton of other stuff - basically anything anyone on here has ever mentioned as asked for :o

Snappy snaps have definitely robbed you, photo me booths are £7!

Trudi - annoying name spelt in a way that means no one ever gets it right...and even more annoying when you have a twin called Judy

I may go to boots or somewhere for my next set - £7 = $15 = BEER MONEY!

You are probably like me then and have a folder with everything labelled, in order, dated, copied, scanned in computer, injected into the blood stream....

Trudi and Judy !! Don't worry, people always spell my mums name wrong too! Gotta live with it now! I always get called Emily-lou. I'm like no, its EMMYLOU, one word, no hyphen. thank you please.

Anyways, please please please keep my updated on your progress. when are you looking to go to US? We can stay in touch during AOS! my wedding isn't until May 1st.

Yup i have a folder like that complete with colour coded tabs and a folder on the laptop with everything on it which has been backed up to an external drive just in case...

We would love it if I could get there in time for Valentines day so that we can celebrate together but thats pushing it I think - asap otherwise

My interview is perfectly timed as my house sale completes 29th Jan so I can leave as soon as the visa is in my hands - we will get married shortly after i arrive and intend to have a reception later in the year for friends/family.

I fully expect to be as obsessed with VJ during AOS as that looks even worse than the K1 process :o

Getting a Visa makes you obsessive lol

My wife has always said I'm a hot mess, totally disorganised, blah blah usual girl stuff

She nearly died when she saw how organised I was for my Visa prep

My ring folder, with plastic sleeves, and tabbed sections she was gob smacked, haha kept her quiet for at least a nano second lol

But at the end of the day this is what you want!! Worth spending a lot of time and energy on

Never ceases to amaze me how little people do, then come on VJ whinging at how USCIS are biased because they were refused!!

Good luck to you all, see you here soon

Like each of you, when I was new I believed everything the Filapinas posted in the K1 forum about everything needed for the I-134. It's kind of a perpetuating myth passed down with "I heard....."

I prepared lots of financial things to show income and investments. I was at the interview with my fiancé and the document lady handed back everything except one form showing a monthly amount I get because my first husband died. The interviewer saw none of the rest and did not even mention the affidavit of support. That one form was over the poverty level so the enough. Since then I have read 8 years of experiences in London. Hundreds of them. No K1 has ever had to come up with lots of proofs. They may accept them all if you push them under the glass, but they approve on one thing if that's all you have. They are very lenient and will take just about anything that shows the income. They have accepted just 100% of the poverty level. They accept an I-134 from another person instead of the fiance...yes, nothing at all from the fiance.

So what goes wrong for a K1 in London?

Not having your parent name(s) on your birth certificate. They call it the long form birth certificate.

Ordering the wrong police certificate from Australia. That country requires fingerprints to get the proper one.

Having a passport that expires in 6 months or less.

Having a UK police certificate saying "No Live Trace". It means you have a police record and they need a Subject Access Report from ACPO or something from the court stating your crime or caution details.

Haha your wife sounds like me, I always moan at my fiancé for not being organised. And tbh, I don't trust him with organising it so I have done it myself, other than making him get the forms required and paying ;)

Now, I know I'm not a genius, and I have asked silly "panicking" questions, but SOME things, are just plain silly. Just put in a bit of time to research it all before you do it.

I guess most of us are guilty of over panicking. That's the downside to the forum - reading the bad and assuming the worst for your own case.

Wise advice from my fiancé - "every case is different, just because THEY did, doesn't mean WE will". He's right, for the most part. You do what is asked of the embassy and if you do that, you (hopefully) shouldn't have a problem. I went OTT with my affidavit because I need a co-sponsor as well, as my fiancé retired officially from military as of 23rd Dec 2015 and he hasn't got proof of VA or anything yet.

Thanks ref the list of what could go wrong, I feel reassured now I will be fine (having just checked AGAIN)!
