Ahhh thank you!! I feel assured now :) I was manically stressing yesterday looking at AOS stuff.. wahh!

I think some embassies schedule medical and interview at the same time so there is no delay in between! WHY CAN'T LONDON DO THAT!

Assuming they took bloods, they need to be screened

And anyway why should they schedule same day, they really don't care what you want

Just saying

They cant do the interview and medical on the same day as Knightsbridge have to get the results to the Embassy so we'd always have 2 trips to do - we get it easy compared to some as we are only a small country and have pretty good transport links so the travel is limited - China for example can have a heck of a trip getting to their locations!

It would be too easy for them both to be arranged at the same time - we need things to stress over, we would only create a whole new bunch of stuff to worry about if it was too simple...

Fingers crossed everyone waiting hears good news soon :)

I know they don't care. I was just expressing some emotion and frustration to my VJ family. And I meant that some embassies let you book the within a few days of each other .. meaning you don't have to have had your medical before getting an interview scheduled.

Either way...

Came home to a letter from London. My interview is 25th January!!!

I can sense more coming our way...!

The blood has to go to the lab so there's a 3-4 day delay between medical and results. It might equally stressful to you to attend your interview and not be told whether you are approved. It's like showing up without a document. No way to approve you without it. So you wait at home for the results to get to the embassy, for them to organize your file and go back for review by the officer (again), then the additional processing leading up to printing.

London issues almost 500 visas per day. It is more efficient for them to have an officer review your complete case in one go and approve you. They are positive your medical results will be there instead of hoping you schedule a few days in advance and hoping there are no hiccups. It's an effort to move things along so they don't get backlogged for many months. The same with paying in advance and scheduling the courier online. It used to be on the day of the interview. Just another way to get people in and out faster on interview day so they can keep up with the demand.

Pretty much agree with what Nick says about the interview & medical on the same day - yes it's an extra trip to London with the added expense but not everyone's medical is straightforward. For example at my medical the doctor said I had a swollen thyroid that needed investigating by my GP. This took 6 weeks of GP appointment, specialist referral (had to go private because of the 10 week delay on the NHS), then an ultrasound followed by a follow up with the specialist to sign me off & do the letter for Knightsbridge!

They were really quick at the embassy - my appointment was at 9am. I arrived at 755 & joined the line. Was through security & in by about 840. Called for my docs at 905 (took about 10mins), called for interview at 10 & out of the building by 1020! Only saw about 10 immigrant numbers on the screen while I was in there.

AOS - I've pretty much completed all the forms for AOS, EAD & AP. Apart from the things that I'll get after the wedding all the docs are ready to go.

This is my list so far…….. comments if necessary lol (obviously if you've never been arrested or aren't adopted then you won't need those items)

It is a good place to be on here otherwise I would've cracked up a long time ago.

Cheers hopefully not too much longer :)

You're going into a nice warm area, smarter than me looking to go into the frozen tundra ;)

Davenport IA, the home of the former WWE World Champion, Seth Rollins, and not a lot else :P I'm a Slipknot fan, so there is a bit of satisfaction listening to them in their home state.

It's been like -22 without the windchill at the moment, it's a little nippy, thankfully all my warm stuff is over there already.

Your be set in Arizona, none of that nasty humidity just proper warmth.

Haha your have him well trained ;D

Haha it's not too bad really it feels colder in Bournemouth, when it's -2, go figure!

Yeah seen them a few times, I'll miss Download and those types of festivals but the local arena has had them, Crue and Metallica fairly recently.

Good work! The better half is 10 years older than me so she's training me well, haha us blokes are a bit notorious for doing that especially after a few vodkas ;)

Question ref interview documents I need to take...

Would I be correct in saying that the documents they ask for (other than birth certificate whereby you bring yours AND your USC fiancé), are documents relevant to the INTERVIEWEE only?! For example, it says military records, my fiancé WAS in the military - I am not.. so I don't bring HIS military docs?!
