I got all excited. Asked my fiance to call NVC. No interview though :(

Oh that sucks, I was sure your update was the interview :(

Fingers crossed for tomorrow

My last status update was 23rd Dec and there was no date scheduled when I phoned last week, it still hasn't updated now.

I understand it updates every time they 'touch' your file so I figure 1 touch for file to arrive from NVC, another for medical results, interview scheduled and then the process to visa issued. That's assuming a straightforward process of course.

I'm going to play safe and wait for the letter before booking train tickets etc just in case she was wrong or fibbing or they change their minds or the apocalypse arrives....

Book nothing till you have confirmed dates!

Many VJ'ers have had their fingers (banks) burnt by booking flights/tickets/weddings/house sale/job resignation too early and then blamed NVC/Embassy/USCIS

You are warned often enough through the process to not do this

These forums are full of tales of woe

Just because 1 applicant filed the day before does not mean you are 1 day behind them (oh how I wish it was so!)

Be patient, it will happen just not when you want/expect!

Just submitted the Notification of Readiness! Put our wedding date as March 20th since we aren't in a super hurry (real date isn't until July) but would still like things to keep moving along.

Fingers crossed the wait for an interview isn't too long!

So my case is currently in transit to the London embassy now, is it best to wait for the ready status on CEAC before trying to book a medical, or have any of you managed to book it prior to this?

As long as you have your LND number you can book it. It's been done before. I wouldn't book it for anything super early though, since there could be an issue if you actually end up attending the medical before it reaches London and gets set up in their system. Just booking it before then however should be fine.

I know, I can't believe it!

And its pretty perfect timing too, the notification arrived today - my birthday, my house sale completes 29th Jan so I will be the right half of the country and can get a train instead of a hotel of the interview :)

We have been incredibly lucky with this whole process so far, we are blessed for sure :)

I agree with the luck. I have read some horror stories, makes me feel grateful for a (relatively) quick and smooth process! I am not far behind you in medical terms so HOPEFULLY I get my interview in Feb too!

Just looked and my status has been updated today, imagine that's the medical results going onto the file.

Without sounding like a moron do you need both the I-134 and I-864?

I got the I-134 completed when I was over there last.

The I-864 Affidavit is for AOS only. K1 filers only need I-134. And co sponsor if required.

You won't need these until interview day.
