It's automated now...your arrival record...so shouldn't take a couple of weeks like in the days when somebody had to manually type in a batch of entries from paper I-94s filled out on the plane and then upload to the database used by SSA. Theoretically it should all happen instantly from scanning your passport at entry. Maybe give it 48 hrs instead of going straight from the airport to a SSA office.

Regarding my RFE... Despite my (and Nich Nick's) feeling that it's a mistake, I'm not going to challenge the USCIS on what they've asked for and instead am going to give them what they have asked for in the RFE - accompanying tax documents for my wife/sponsor (we're going to include her full federal tax return from last year plus her W2s so they can't say we haven't given them everything!). As the RFE also suggested we get a joint-sponsor (again, bizarre considering we included not only the 2014 tax transcript for my wife but evidence of her current income which is above the poverty guideline) that's what we are going to do.

However, while the letter says send everything at once and gives the address of the MO office to which to post the information, the letter says for the joint-sponsor to 'file' the I-864. Now, do we need to send that I-864 and accompanying evidence to the filing address for the I-864 or along with the tax documents straight to the MO address provided on the letter. Am I reading too much into the term 'file' here? The letter doesn't give any other address to send stuff too, so I'm assuming straight to the MO office but wanted to check!

It is an answer to an RFE, so your whole response goes to the address of the person holding your file. That includes the additional I-864.

Medical today, being super nervous and terrified of being late I got there 2 hrs early!

They were really lovely and saw me straight away - all done in 30 mins and so long as the x Ray and blood tests are OK the doctor said all is good so onto the DS160 and notification of readiness then start sweating over the interview...

Interesting. We had an issue getting through a few weeks ago where apparently the call wouldn't actually ring, just beep and the call would end itself.

We just kept trying and eventually got through, around 1pm-ish.

Are you actually getting a message that says "Sorry we are closed right now" or something similar? Which number are you calling?

Yeh I was getting an automated response saying they are closed, but I kept trying and managed to get through about 9:45am - it was the 0207 486 7822 number.

They said they would send email confirmation but I am yet to receive this!

Weird I got my email before the phone call was complete and they were definitely fully staffed yesterday.

Hope it has arrived now but if it doesn't don't panic, there is just 1 form to complete that you can do there and a list of the things you need to take and as you are on VJ you already know what you need...

Hey guys.

So today I submitted my "readiness" online form, as I have completed steps 1-4 (medical schedule for Wednesday this week). It say's on the embassy website that they will schedule my interview which could take up to 6 weeks and to NOT call them in this time....

Generally, how quickly are people getting interviews at London because my plan was to have my Visa by first week of February!
