They did give back most.

They kept Police, birth, affidavit and I believe they are returned with Passport

Make copies of everything.

When I had my K1 interview I got ALL original documents back except passport. From what I understand, the Embassy make copies of Police and Birth certificates and then return the originals to you. I went with photocopies of everything I had and offered these to them, but the Embassy didn't take them. The affidavit of support form they kept, I *think* they returned the supporting financial documents (copies) but can't remember if they did or if I just had extra copies.

They only thing I got back with the Visa package was my passport with visa in it.

Congratulations. I'm going to add you to that Medical to interview thread just to bump it up. I'll use the date received by the embassy since you seem to have had a delay before it got sent out.

Thanks!

Yes I had a delay because my blood pressure was high on the day of the medical (surprise surprise with going through this process!) so had to get some tests done at the doctors when I was more relaxed to show it was normal. I think the results would've been sent from London on 10/19/2015 if that helps :)

Just now discovering this wonderful part of the forum. A little late in the day, but oh well!

I just received (yesterday) a notification that my I-751 had been approved, in the form of "your card has been ordered for production" -- and since I have a good 3 years until I can naturalize, I suppose that's the end of my journey for now.

Still, I'm going to hang around :) I've gotten quite comfortable here.

Be prepared for the eternal waiting game. Be prepared for average news.

Yes, hang out. I'm sure you have insights or funny stories to tell. Have you read the accent thread yet? Lots of stories. Did you adjust from VWP? I noticed no visa process. But if you have to do the five year naturalization, I guess it wasn't marriage based maybe. Anyway...welcome.

Happy to hang out!

I did adjust from VWP - actually I came out to visit my girlfriend at the time after a 2 year stint together in London. That turned into a whirlwind romance, wedding, I-130 / I-485 / I-765 combo application and nearly 2 years of marriage. During which everything went horribly, horribly wrong and left both of us not being able to be in the same room as each other in the end.

Still, I don't regret my decision - the stress of the I-751 divorce waiver aside (although on that note, I sent them at least two full trees' worth of paperwork pertaining to the marriage which apparently satisfied them enough to not even interview me -- pro tip) I'm enjoying my life in the U.S, albeit a rather lonely one at present.

Hello everyone, I posted in the 'Life in the USA' thread but wanted to post in here in case others aren't active in that. We received our electronic notification that our interview is scheduled for 10 December. After sitting on the biometric fee status for 6 months, it updated with our interview date this morning at 0500.

I'm waiting to see what the interview letter suggests, but so far we have bank statements, pictures, etc.

Finally got my K1 visa in hand ( Nov 6th) and will fly out next week to reunite with my fiancée and get married.

A big thank you to all the members on VJ for all the advice and support in getting me through our journey and especially Nich-Nick, whose London K1 was so helpful. I'll be back on again when I start the AOS. Thanks

Safe travels. Embrace the new life. Don't get hung up on looking for the UK everyday. It is different. Make it your home...for better or worse. Make it work.

(But secretly hunt out the tiny section in most supermarkets that is notated "International", translated as "Mainly British", and contains overly priced maltesers and marmite)
