I just want to double check.

Do you need to bring the copies off al the original documents for the interview?

It's been a busy couple weeks since my fiancee entered the US. We've been scrambling for a wedding, and today we applied for her SSN. I did as much research here on the site to figure out what we needed, but what it boiled down to was the application, I-94, Passport and her English driver's license. We were unsure what to check for the options dealing with Lawful Alien Able To Work, Lawful Alien Unable to Work and Other, but the SS person said no problem, I'll handle it. When the SS person asked us to review the details, it was Lawful Alien Able to Work and he said that was the only option he had for K1 Visas (even prior to obtaining valid work credentials). I didn't see any information on this, so I questioned him further and if we should be using Unable to Work, and he said he had no choice. Other than that: easy peasy.

Upon reading the printout given to us at the end, it said to the notion of: The SS card allows you to work WITH valid credentials from the Department of Homeland Security..

So now it makes sense

After what had to be one of the easiest experiences at border control at Denver I have finally made it. It took less than 5 minutes to get through on my K1 visa.

Thank you all for your support through this journey so far, now it is time to start on AOS.

Old UK VJ member here but it is the weekend and we decided to check in. As of August Jodie now has her 10 year green card and we made it through the process all by VJ. Never had a RFE and we are two green cards in and have never had an interview.

Now i just have to talk her into keep practicing driving........ At least she finally got her learners permit.

Strange, I think... So my fiancé had the interview this past Friday. Today our case remains on CEAC at "Ready," yet our creation date changed to today's date and the update date changed to today's date as well. Is this normal? I thought it goes into AP right after?

I would not worry about it. it changes from immigrant to nonimigrant etc. I have the same and I had interview on Friday.

Also i would not rely 100% on those updates. you will get it soon.

That's normal. The date change should be because they've changed it from immigrant to nonimmigrant in the system.

I'd reckon your status will be changed to "Administrative Processing" later today, and then "Issued" tomorrow. If they're running behind, it'll change tomorrow and issued Wednesday. But I wouldn't worry!

I know nothing will stop you from checking the website every 10 minutes like I did, lol. But it's getting processed!!! Won't be long now.

How does my fiancé know when to pick it up from the depot? Is it once it says "Issued" it's ready to be picked up?

Yay! Grats! It'll change to "Issued" tomorrow around midday since that's close of business for London (5pm). Your fiance will receive an email to the email registered when she paid for the interview probably Thursday morning informing her it is with courier and with a link to track it. The link will tell you it will be available to pick up by a date.

Your timeline is the same as mine was in September. It was "AP" Monday, "Issued" Tuesday, email on Thursday to let you know it is with courier, ready for pick up Friday morning from 8am to close. I called the courier because I was anxious and it actually gets to them Thursday but obviously processing requires the overnight. I'm 99% sure your fiance should have the visa in hand by Friday. Then the flight can be booked!
