When you do your interview/paperwork check the first thing they asked for at docs check was the letter!

I did the interview last week, its on the list of paperwork to bring with you

I never got my packet 4, just an email confirmation of my interview date/time after I had enquired. London have refused to send me the packet and have stated on the email it is not required, just to show the security at the front a copy of the email which has the date and time on along with my name. Not sure what packet 4's look like or contain, but I suspect those are the most pertinent points.

Here's a copy of the email that I received after I contacted the London embassy about not receiving packet 4, even though I knew I had an interview scheduled because I called NVC after becoming disconcerted with no progress updates. One imagines a scenario where if I had not been proactive and called NVC, I would be none the wiser of my upcoming interview date and possibly even missed it.

Bit of a shambles if you ask me, I still believe no packet 4 was sent, incredibly rare for letters to go adrift these days but alas these are my circumstances. I'd be lying if I wasn't a little apprehensive turning up without it, but I have it in writing it isn't required and the email is sufficient. Of all the documents required on the day, I suspect this is the least important, and more of a security measure for filtering people in/away from the embassy. Rest assured, a scene will be caused at the gates of the embassy if there is an attempt to turn me away.....

Thank you for your email.

As previously advised, you need not be concerned if you have not receive the appointment letter. You may bring a copy of this email as proof of your appointment for your visa interview.

To confirm, the appointment is scheduled for (date/time). The information required for the interview is available from our website at http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/attending_interview.html.

The MRV application fee must be paid prior to the appointment and you are also required to register with the courier company for the delivery of your visa and passport once it has been issued. Further information is available from http://london.usembassy.gov/iv/courier.html.

Sincerely,

Yes it is on the list of things to bring. But some people never get the letter whether embassy oversight, mail problems, or a last minute call saying "We have an opening. Wanna come tomorrow?"

Some get an email in lieu of letter. Some get nothing and have to be found on the list. Extra time to look up people so having the letter speeds things up for them. Kinda like having your concert tickets instead of having to go to will call. There is a way around no letter whether you never got it or just forgot it.

Just realized we've put the wrong case number on the payment for the visa! And I can't remember if the DS-160 is correct...

My fiance is going to try and call tomorrow to get it fixed. Anyone had this happen before?
Stupid mistake :oops::bonk:

Who you going to call? If it's the Embassy, they don't accept phone calls, I tried because they sent my packet 3 to the wrong person, ( which included my full petition) they didn't class that as an emergency, I was told to use the contact form for the embassy, which could take 5 days to reply.

Im so confused. My fiance has called NVC 5 times for interview date. They may not have it yet as its still early days, but they keep saying you have to call Embassy.

1) I know London doesnt accept calls so I can email

2) I thought NVC can give you date? Is it luck of the dice with a nice representative? Or do they only give it once they have it?

Thanks

Just keep calling NVC, it is a matter of luck which rep you get, I think the rep's deal with every single type of visa and don't specialise in K1's, like the one I spoke to didn't realise my case was in London, ( it shows ready on the CEAC status website)which meant it was in London waiting for me to do something!

I don't think the Embassy will tell you by email, as you know their individual contact is very limited with strict parameters as to what you can enquire about.

Super quick process at the interview this morning - all approved!!! So relieved. They said the BBE should be with me in about a week. Just in time for the wedding as originally planned. I didn't think it was going to happen I tell you...

Congratulations! I'm breathing down your neck, I had a slight delay because the Embassy sent my packet 3 to someone else, But I asked for an earlier interview because of that delay, fingers crossed!

Congratulations! And to think it was only a week ago you were concerned about zero progress, now you're all approved.

What does BBE stand for? Presume it's the visa in the passport bit? Any surprise questions or requests or was it all as expected from the documents they ask for?

I sent the embassy and e-mail, but his interview is on Tuesday so I'm not sure if they're going to get to it in time...He's going to try and call the DoS appointment/visa printing people. I don't really know what to do, but I guess we'll just wait and see what happens. :clock:
