Hi guys, been following this thread since we got approved, thanks for all the help.

We just got our case number from NVC and was wondering is it safe to book a medical for a couple of weeks time? Based on your experiences will it be in London by then? Also when can the DS160 be filled out?

Thanks.

If you've got your LND number from NVC then you're ok to book the medical. If you haven't had the Packet 3 letter by the time you have the medical just print the online page on the CEAC checker that shows the number.

From my personal experience I got my number from the NVC, it arrived in London 8 days later & I had my Packet 3 letter from the Embassy 3 days after that. I've heard some don't receive their letter or wait months for it - as long as you have your LND number you can do the medical whether you have the physical letter or not.

Got two Packet 4 letters through the post today! One dated 21st the other 22nd both confirming my interview on Friday at 8am. Guess they wanted to make sure it got to me!

All systems go. All my documents are collated and I'm heading up to stay the night in London after work tomorrow ahead of Friday morning. The end is in sight!

EDIT: Just read that the US might be heading for another federal government shutdown on October 1st. Will this affect visa processing at the embassy?!

Thanks everyone.

I know, I think them getting badgered from both my end and my fiancee's maybe made them look at what date I put on the DS-160 for the wedding and hurry things up!!!

So we sent the Readiness Form in on August 26th and my fiance had the medical exam on September 3rd. Our case was last updated on September 9th. We still have not recieved the interview letter. Should this be of concern yet? Should I call the NVC? I get nervous that either the letter go lost in the mail or our form went missing or something...

If anyone has any input that would be fantastic!

UPDATE: I just spoke with a woman from the NVC she put me on hold to check and told me that the London Embassy is the only one who has the interview date information and told me to contact them. Is this correct? Should I try to call back and get someone else?

You are still well within their processing timeframes. If the medical was on September 3rd, then the results would've got to the embassy the following week commencing the 7th. I'd guess that the case status update of the 9th was them receiving the medical results and adding them to the file. That would leave you only 2 weeks into a processing time which they state can be up to 6 weeks long. So, I wouldn't worry yet :)

Also, the NVC can look up whether you have an interview date, so that advisor is incorrect. It does depend on which advisor you get as I've had some who seem to know the process better and were happy to check for me, and others who didn't know anything and said they couldn't help at all which I know isn't true.

While London schedule it for you and will send you a letter, the NVC will have access to the date when it's arranged so you could find out a couple of days before you get the letter.

I think it really depends on your luck. I was talking to one advisor who didn't want to say the thing and insisting that they can't view the details and when i called again i talked to a different one and said that nothing been updated (he didn't say he can't tell me or view it).

so not only having luck in getting through the line and queueing but also who speaks to you
