my fiance is not that excited about coming here... he was in the beginning, now not so much. I would go live there...but my mom and I are too close for me to just go get married and be thousands of miles away from her.

Now we just want to be in the same place, and not have the dumb 8 hour time difference...

He does not want to live here but he will for me. I have two daughters who are very involved with their dad and so I can't uproot them and I would NEVER leave them.

He has a LOT of fears of living here. And a ton of misconceptions. Just like I had before I went there. He has never been out of Egypt and never been on a plane so this will be quite the change for him.

One misconception he has is about dating:

him: "so you will allow your daughters to date, correct?"

me: "yes, of course"

him: "ok, but I just have to tell you, I don't want them to make relations in the house"

me: "what do you mean 'make relations'?"

him: "make sex"

me: "yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.........that's not happening"

him: "but they will date"

.....took me about an hour to make him understand that dating does not equal sex.

When I asked him where he wants to visit I was suprised. He said he wants to see the Statue of Liberty. I thought that was really sweet....he's coming here, wants to see the statue that millions of immigrants saw before him. Well turns out the reason is that it was supposed to have been sold to the Egyptians to welcome all those who come through the Suez Canal, but Egypt didn't have enough money to pay for it so we got the leftovers and turned it into the statue of liberty. I thought he was lying at first till I looked it up and sure nuff he was right.

He wants to see Las Vegas. He does not gamble but has heard so much about it and wants to see all the action at the casinos.

The number one place he wants to see.....................Disney World. He LOVES Mickey Mouse. :luv:

This post made me laugh too! When I first met my husband, I used to sign off our phone conversations by saying "have fun!" He would always reply, "I can't have fun, I'm Muslim", and leave me scratching my head. Well, after hearing this a few times, I asked him why he couldn't have fun because he's Muslim. It turned out that he thought I was saying "Have sex!", and he wasn't married. The conversation makes me laugh when I think about it to this day.

A cousin's brother in law is a good friend of mine. He lives in Giza. One day he said he had a piece of "English literature" that he wanted me to explain to him. I'm thinking Shakesphere, Chauser, Hemingway or the like, and agree to help him. Then he begins, "There's beer and then there's Micholeob . . ." I thought I would die laughing.

I told my DH I want to take him to Disney World. He doesn't want to go. :( At least, not yet.
