I notice on Hank's guide for the Medical he has the statement:

(GUYS if you are in the Phils with your Fiancee before the medical NO "personal" contact until AFTER St. Luke's is completed)

Can anybody explain why this is an issue for the medical exam at St. Luke's? It certainly is not an issue for normal physicals or even OB/GYN examinations. Why is the Manila medical exam unique?

Just curious...

If St. Luke's know you are in the Phils are have been up close and personal they will want you to wait until after your next period to remove concerns of pregnancy. X-ray and some vaccinations are not good when pregnant.

When I had my medicals here in the states in atlanta the nurse had to do a pregnancy test before doing anything the first day and then I had to come back 3 days later and she told me the same and actually took another pregnancy test when I came back the second time.

So I guess it's the same reason over the Philipines

For fiancée visa if the fiancée admits to benga since last menstruation then there is a delay at SLEC for a pregnancy test OR the fiancée can opt out of the vaccinations with a waiver during the SLEC Imminuzation Interview step. Then the shots can be done in the USA. Some in VJ say it is costly to get the shots in the USA and others here in VJ say their health insurance will pick up the tab after marriage.
