I went to Moscow for the interview and no I was not allowed to attend as has been stated many times before and I knew before going. Anna was extremely nervous as I am sure many who are in this situation are. I had the resources available so I went.

Got lucky on the tickets, round trip was $700 (Chicago to Moscow flew Luft). We stayed in one of Moscow Rick's apartments. It was quite, clean, and cozy.

I went with Anna for the medical. She was poked and proded and had the bruises and sore injection areas to prove it. It was not too bad but I could see she was feeling a bit worked over. She got copies of everything so that we would have them for later steps in the process.

We had everything that was requsted for the inteview and then some. Anna's interview was scheduled for 9am Jan 30. The morning of the interview we arrived at the embassy at 7:40am via the metro (we checked out the embassy the day before). The embassy opened at 8am. We could not find a cafe so I waited outside the embassy while she went in. I must have been a polar bear in a previous life because it was not that bad (only -11 centigrade). She came out 2 hours and 20 minutes later and was all smiles, so I knew things went well. She said she was interviewed by a nice man who only looked at what was required and did not care to see anything extra. He asked her all the questions that have been posted here. The only thing she was unprepared for was when he asked her if she had told me about her previous marriages. She said yes but he asked what proof she had that I knew. They talked about it a bit more and she finally said she had no reason to keep the previous marriages a secret and that she was an honest person. After a bit more discussion he said things were in order.

He told her she could expect the visa in about 2 or 3 weeks. When she arrived back in Saratov just after 3 days it was waiting for her.

Each time Anna and I are together it feels more and more like we were meant to be together. Who knows what will happen tomorrow but today I love her. We have not determined when she will come since she is very close to her family and I want her to come when she has had time to spend some quality time with them.

I am a bit numb and not sure the reality has sunk in but I feel so happy. I hope everyone is as lucky as Anna and I have been and I will keep good thoughts for everyone who is making this journey.

Congrats!

what kind of questions to the interviewer ask?

As I said the questions were the ones that have been posted here several times. The only wrinkle we had was the one question about my knowing about her previous marriages and why they ended. She had been very open about why the marriages had ended.
