Hi! My fiancé is going to interview for k1 soon and I only have copies of of the 2013 & 2012 w-2 forms for my cosponsor to accompany i34 (printed with tax forms from those dates) and pay stubs along with all other evidence (my cosponsor cannot find originals). Does anyone know if this is sufficient?

I'm afraid that he will get delayed in the process and we just had a baby last month that he is aching to meet.

Oh ok thanks! So copies are ok great!!! And w-2 for 2014, but do I also need the tax papers that were filed or just the w2?

Yes copies very ok. Since tax returns can be filed until April 15 with the IRS, meaning chances are that the tax return is not filed at the time of interview, then no need to bring 2014 tax return. IF he already filed his tax return, then you should include that, but the interviewing officer should know that the IRS has April 15 as the due date, or even later filings are OK for certain reasons, so not having the tax return but only the W-2 should not be a problem at all due to the April 15 IRS deadline.

My fiancee's interview isn't until February 17th. I already sent her all my financial documents and my dad the joint sponsors documents. Since my dad is retired I sent his last 3 years of IRS transcripts (2013, 2012, 2011), I didn't meet the requirement in 2014 but I sent my W2's from 2013, and 2012. I just received my 2014 W2 but the income was for only for 2 months at my previous employer, and a W2 from December from my newest job which is literally showing a few hundred dollars earned... In my case is it even worth it to send my 2014 W2's to my fiancee to show at her interview?

My philosophy is that you are always better off to have docs readily available than not at all. Likely you might not have to show it, BUT if they happen to ask for it, she can pull it up. So, despite the circumstances you just said, email her a scanned copy to bring, just in case... She is better off having it and not have to show it, than NOT having it but asked for it at the interview... If not sure if it will rain or not, bring umbrella just in case, sort of thing... I presume you already sent her a letter written by your current employer specifying current salary, position, etc?...

I agree but my thing is I'm not going to qualify regardless on count of my current status that's why I wasn't going to send. My dad easily qualifies but he doesn't have any W2 since he's retired and for him I sent 3 years of IRS transcripts, bank letter from officer, bank statements, proof of retirement income, and SS retirement proof of income. He didn't file yet this year so his transcripts only go up to 2013, that's my concern.

Your dad doesn't receive 1099's for his retirement and social security income?

Yes but I thought the transcripts were more then enough proof and since its not after the April deadline to file 2014 doesn't have to be submitted.

Doesn't need to have filed his 2014 taxes yet, but if he has his 2014 1099s, then he should provide copies of them as well.

I guess what's throwing me off is that on the appointment letter it says to submit a 1040 tax form for the most recent year, in otherwords filed taxes of the most recent year.
